Default *Hi-Flo Kill Stories Thread* *VID*

....to give customers something to look forward to. mod's, please dont move this to kill stories as it is directed to the hi-flo customers in this forum.

well....cars startin to perform pretty solid. still on a very conservative tune. rich as hell. running it at ~14.5psi during these races. 4000lb race weight. BFG's are kicked/faulty......still getting used to the car so my driving has little ways to go. now that the excuses are out of the way..

kill: 05? 636 ninja. one of two real good riders in the area. this bike/rider ran 10.6 @ 129. ~40-45 rolls.....several of them. bike would get the jump as i was spinning, alot......so in 3rd gear i was playing catchup, and in 4th i put several cars on him. this happened about 5 times. tried a couple rolls in 1st and 2nd, and i would just rape the tires. long story short...... once i gained traction, i got the bike pretty good

kill: 3rd gen iroc, gutted track car. race built 434 carb with all the works. AFRs and a big cam. + a 225 2 stage wet shot. he said N/A, the car ran 10.5 @ 125. said the car with the nitrous would have no problem running 9s....im assuming mid 130s. again, these were 45 rolls. long story short, i had at least 5 cars on him. could see his whole car in my rearview mirroe getting smaller and smaller. real good guy..... spoke to him afterwards. says he forgot to purge. he had just hooked up the nitrous the other day.....so maybe he was having problems or something...but didnt say anything, no excuses :gotme:

will have vid: 04 R1. best racing-rider i know. 45 rolls. i started in 3rd gear....spun through the whole gear, he got a big jump. 4th gear i reeled him in almost all the way. had about 4 of these....however...our 2nd "attempted" race......when i shifted into 4th it popped out and made a not so pleasant noise. for the rest of the runs it was real hard to get it in 4th so i had to ***** it in. my passenger was taping and he makes real good hi-def vids. ill post it on here when he gets it up. once i figure out how to stick the car and drive....i will have no problem taking the R1. spinning in 3rd from a 45 with 3.73s is just not right. time for some 3.08s, good tires...and driving skill.

all in all...the cars making the power to take down some big dogs but i just need to work on getting it to the ground. its startin to come around, but i didnt even hit the dyno yet and theres still alota power to be found ill keep these stories coming....and get some vids/pictures up

keep your heads up boys.

lets keep this thread clean. NO HI-FLO BASHING OR ASKING WHERE YOUR STUFF IS. THERE IS A DIFFERENT THREAD FOR THAT.

get it to the track and see what you MPH out.
id think your 4000 raceweight is a little over estimated, even with the iron block.
do you have a cage in it?
my guess would be 3800-3900lbs depending on your body weight.

right now im on 3.73 gears and i can tell you ya they suck your shifting to fast to get it moving.

ya the 3.73s are def hurting me. dyno tomaro and then ill start hitting the track. ill go to the closer gayth mile track to practice the launch, hopefully this weekend, then the 1/4 next weds...all weather pending....

last year with the aluminum block with me in the car and nothing else i scaled in at 3780lbs. this year i got the iron block, 2, instead of one subframes, alota school books and tools in the car, and just a lota here-and-there added weight. hell, even the heads weight a bit more iirc. not to mention i had a 170lb-220lb passenger/vid camera for several of these races. i think its pretty safe to say i was over 4000 with the passenger, and pretty damn close w/o.

no cage

CORRECTION: that iroc i mentioned was a 434, NOT a 408

BTW: for a moser 12bolt, are there any gears available between 3.08s and 3.42s? idealy i'd like something like a 3.21 but haven't been able to find any. my buddy just installed 3.08s so that'll prolly be the route i take if it works out for him......

I'm running 3.73's on a 12-bolt right now... They're ******* killing me.

They're gone this weekend, however (back to 3.42's). You'll love 3.21's I'm sure... If they're available.

Why are the 373's killing you? I just installed a Dana 60 w/ 373's after fiquring my mph and tire (28") in the 1/4. What size tires are you running?

373s are killing cuz they rip thru too quick basically. with longer gears....you create more load spooling the turbo better, and you obviously stay in boost longer and in your powerrange longer. you dont have to shift as much, which, face it, its not the easiest job to stick thru a turbo car with keeping boost up and tires on the ground etc etc.

you really think 342s from 373s will make much difference? if you could find those 323s i would love you

mechem....vids will be up eventually. i plan on racing the local black supra and make a clone of your famous vid

tires are just 275/40/17 bfg dr's. weren't heat cycled and theyre kicked

need taller gears with a turbo huh, stay in the powerband longer? i can imagine that thing kicking in and spinning the tires like theres no tommorrow. i have a motor on the way and i am currently running 3:42s, i think ill stick with them for now.

Sounds like fun. I run 3:50's, based on pure math, but for a dtreet driver.. I think 323 would be great for (over 500 rwhp) applications.... like yours.

ill get slips from him...... gaurentee you this. the rider has a lot to do with how fast it is. besides the only thing that really applies with a roll race is the trap. his was 129. again, once im able to stick hard in my launching gear,,,,it will be a rape. u gota realize i spend half these races just getting traction

i know he's got good sticky tires he was telling me about, but they arent slicks.
