99 Trans AM vs Turbo Civic Hatch
Well me and alot of guys went out to a local spot to do some racing. Then were headed on the way back and all a sudden I hear whoosh some little ricer I figured with a turbo on his civic. I didn't think much of it. So he acts like he wants to run so I figure what the hell I didn't get much action tonight so hopefully this will be fun. I'm at about 45 mph in 2nd gear (sweet spot about 4.5k rpms or so) I honk 3 times and punch it... Holy **** this car is keeping up... I bang 3rd gear look beside me and he is at my rear quarter panel... I'm thinking damn this little thing isn't too shabby. So I keep into it then hit 4th gear, finally I start a good pull on him. I get about 2.5 cars on him and shut down at about 110 or so. I didn't expect much out of the car but I stopped and talked to the guy and the car was rather impressive motor wise... but looked like a POS. He said it was a b18c motor out of a Integra GSR with forged internals and a t3/t4 running 18 psi with all the bolt ons etc. Impressive thing was he said it weighed in at 2300 PDS! Only could I wonder what my car would do with a weight of 2300

You were driving your T/A? B18c with 18lbs of boost on t3/t4 should be putting down at least mid 300's to the wheels and should walk you if you only have 400whp.
Don't want to start anything, but a 2300lbs car with 300whp+ should walk a 400whp f-body.

Yah I was driving the T/A. I would figure the same as you did. He said it weighed 2300 pds but there were 2 big fellars in the car so that might have made a diff. But yah I started walking him on 4th gear where I figured he would pull me if he could. He spun a little at around 45 but then hooked but still couldn't get me. I don't know how well the car was tuned etc but it didn't pull on me. I was also off the juice so it was an N/A pass.

Wow, nice kill! I would expect that Civic to be much faster, but a 400 whp F-body is no slouch either. There is a 4-door around my way with the same exact setup and on 14 lbs. he puts down most competitors. Run's low 12's on street tires!

Nice kill. Funny thing, you always seem to get the best runs when you doubt its going to happen. This is why its good to daily drive a fast car.
Weight reduction is great and all, but if he spin down low that negates that advantage a lot. What good is apower to weight if the power is not applied. And when it comes to top end, weight simply does not mean a whole lot in most scenarios.

Just imagine if that Honda has a 346 cubic inch motor. This can go both ways. Run what ya brung. Don't make excuses. He has a turbo, then he has a turbo. You have a big motor with no power adder, thats you.
