Well one of my good friends knows this guy that keeps talking crap on f-bodies( my friend has a stock 2002 v6 firebird, and miata guy makes fun of his car). He thinks that his miata can destroy the v6 firebird and my z28. All I know is the miata has full exhaust system (expensive headers) and some intake stuff. He says that with slicks he can run low 14s and has aprox 200hp, and its a stick. Now the thing is my friend with the firebird told me miata will kill me from a stop cause he weighs nothing 2300-2500 pounds (as i read somewhere), but from a roll i should kill him without a problem. BUT my tranny seems to slip when i go 60mph and floor it, so should we just do it from a 40mph roll? or can I actually kill him from a stop? any other suggestions how to race this stupid miata? all the help you guys can give will be greatly apreciated.

what do you mean when you say that your trans slips? It's an auto I assume?

If he is on a slick, I wouldnt go at it from a dig, but if you are on equal tires you should kill him from a stop.

i dont think the 16v 4 in a miata will crank out 200 hp with exhaust and intake alone. almost all of them are sticks but they dont have much pull to them. you could take him....he might get the jump on you at first with slicks but i think your torque will pull out.

Trade in your Z28, get a ******* hybrid Escape, and log your city and highway MPG against the other hybrid pussified, horseshit, dogshit vehicles out there.

I could see a new Mazdaspeed Miata w/ slicks and a few bolt-ons maybe running high 13's with a driver.

However, a NA Miata with a intake/exhaust even with slicks wouldn't run anywhere near that.

It should be pretty obvious if he's got any type of V8 swap unless you are a complete idiot.

I can't believe I'm trying to convince someone to race a Miata. What has this forum come to.
