Friend's 98' Z28 beats my 04' Cobra.

Friend's 98' Z28 beats my 04' Cobra. Alright well one of my good buddies moved into town last week and he has a 98' Z28. Well I was talking to him about how I was going to put a KB on my car. Well he said he wanted to race me before I got the KB put on 
. So I decided what the hell. I had the feeling he would beat me pretty good also. Well his Z28 has LS6 cam, Patriot Performance ported LS6 heads, lid, 90mm TB, F.A.S.T Intake manifold, LT's, True Duals, clutch/flywheel, 4.10's, and DR's. His car is also dyno tuned and I forgot off the top off my head what he makes to the wheels. Well we went out with all of our buddies(My Cobra, his Z28, WS6, Mach1, Formula, another Z28, and a GT, looked bad *** with all of us). Well we go to a back road to race. We get there and warm up our DR's. We line up and as the flagger drops his hands we both go. We launch and he just jumps out and starts a slight good pull. At the end he had about 2.5 cars on me. It seemed like I was pulling more at the end. Well we come back and all of us go get something to eat and just bs'ing. I then told him I gonna put the KB on and race again, lol. He just laughed and said he wouldn't even try.

Not bad. Respectable loss. Sounds like he has a badass Z. And I would have loved to have seen that setup driving down the street...all those msucle cars....freakin' sweet.

why did he go w/ such a small cam? That cam is tiny, considering he has heads, 90/90 set-up, bolt-ons.....I woulda went w/ a much larger cam than that, he coulda made so much more power.

^^^ Yah it sucks, but I didnt know what I wanted and I still dont. After talking to unit I might just put in some pistons and rod bolts, and maybe go 3.3 whipple, lol. But I might just stick with a KB 2.2 or 2.4

You won't have trouble with a KB I am guessing.
Off topic, but how did you get that cobra for free, and how did you get an 02 TA for 3k?

Since he did heads, he should have a (much) larger cam, then that race would have been 4 to 5 cars or more. Heads/cam ls1 taken out a i/e cobra by only 2.5??? Damn he needs a bigger cam!

KB 2.4, IMO....but that's just me.
