Whats quicker WS6 vs LS2 GTO 100% stock
This was on the GTO board and had a bunch of different answers. This would be assuming drivers are equal. This would also be at the drag strip. Also both cars stock Whats your take on this ?

Equal! Keep in mind the curb weight of the two cars. The LS2 may be a more potent motor than the LS1 or LS6 but,....its lug'n arround more weight then those of us in an F-Body.

It would be very close, I have smoked LS-2 GTOs at the track with the mods listed below. It also depends on transmission(auto or manual) and driver(good or bad). GTOs also weigh more, which is why they get very similar times to F-bodies.

Um, if they have the same drivetrain, it's a no-brainer for the f-body. Same motor, same trans, less weight, no IRS. But that's irrelevant since he said right in the title of the thread that it's an LS2 GTO.

And back on topic, I think the GTO would win in this instance. Most stock LS1 f-bodies run mid 13s. Every stock LS2 GTO I've seen is in the low 13s. Should be close, but I think the GTO will win by a small margin, assuming no driver error.

LS2 GTO can take it driven properly, close though. Could easily go either way with even a little driving hiccup though...

This may also prove interesting:

True, its nitrous, but they also post n/a speeds as well.

I saw two 05 GTO's auto go low 13's bone stock. One went 13.20 with a passenger and almost no miles on it!
I think the GTO would edge out the F body by a little, not too much

Driver's race, but since you said driver equal, I will say Fbod. LS2 GTo's are putting down more HP (30-40), but the GTO has the IRS, is and is heavier. Unless the 'equal' driver can launch the IRS smoothly, the nod goes to the fbod. Also, you did not mention which gears the fbod will have, so I am asuming it is the tallest gear to make it more even with the GTO.
Don't get me wrong, I like the GTO. But you asked.
Also, since this is a 'what if' type thread.......in before close...HAH.

Well I am not stock or Ws6 but I have spanked 3 at the local 1/8th and seen 2 others run, all 05+ 6 speeds
Their 1/8th ranges from 8.7-9.3 trapping between 79-82mph
The ones I raced had similar 60's so its not like they couldnt hook.............
Maybe just poor drivers but then again I havent cut any lower than 2.0 60's with mine myself

Put my money on the stang! Just BS. I would go with the WS6 just because I have seen more than one LS2 GTO at the track on DR that ran really high 13s. Thats just what I saw. It was a 100 deg. and I had really hoped to break into the 12s myself, but it didnt happen. Next time.
The GTO in that video ran pretty good. Most likely a drivers race.

With the mods in my sig, I killed an 06 GTO by 5-7 cars from a roll....I don't really think that my mods could make that much difference.....all all has to do with the extra 400lbs....

Ya the GTO will probaly win under the circumstances ur provided... Im not sure if ur asking this question cuz ur thinking about getting a GTO cuz its faster or anything but... Take a GTO slap headers back exhaust/airfilter on it and tune it then take a 01/02 WS6 and slap on headers back exhaust/air filter and tune it.. Take it back to the track and i believe given the same circumstances the GTO will lose... i was gonna get a GTO but while on the GTO boards they was saying how it did not respond very well to mods because of the wieght.
