Default Supra kill

This kill happened before I knew this message board existed, but I thought I would share it with you guys anyway. It was one of my best kills in the Z28. Background info: I had a 1995 silver z28 A4 stock and ran high 13s in the 1/4. I dont know anything about Supras, but I would say his car was a black 94-97 Supra (TT??idontknow).

So my buddy and I are cruising on the service road off of Dallas N. Tollway in Plano and this Supra comes flying by us, obviously trying to get my attention. I had never raced a Supra, so I was pumped and luckily we hit the next light. As I approached the light I noticed that he had California plates. I was thinking to myself "i better put this foreigner in his place" We both have our windows down so I look over to give him props on his car, but this ugly ho in the passenger seat looks at me and gives me the dirtiest look ever. She proceeds to roll her eyes and roll the window up. Before she got the window all the way up my friend gets a "**** you" out. lol. So now I am pissed and ready to roll. I wasnt going to give this tool an inch. The light turns green and I get the best hook up ever. I take him off the line by half a car and by 110 I had put 2 car lengths on him. My friend and I wanted so badly to talk **** to these idiots after the race that I came to a complet stop on the service road and waited for them to get even with me. They turned off before we could get some words in, but i think my friend scared them off because he was hanging half his body out my window yelling at them.

Good kill. I raced a supra that had a turbo, BOV, intake, exhaust, and the rest is unknown. I was at local races and he was very cocky. He wanted to race my friends 04 cobra that is modded.(460-480hp) My friend didnt want to waste his time. On the highway he pulls up and jumps at me with the passenger talking **** so i dropped it and let him hit it first. To his surprise i walk away from him. It felt great to put him in his place!

Good kill! Cocky Supra bastards. 6 speed Supras (TT's) run low 13's, and auto are in the high 13's, probably and auto who can't launch.

Good kill, but what mods did you Camaro have??

Only reason I ask is b/c you were runnin a LT1 in it since it was a 95'. Stock LT1's are not that fast. Maybe the Supra was N/A. Thats would explain alot. Especially with you walkin him that bad.

my lt1 was in the 13's with just a gear swap with a 95K on it completely stock motor 2.73's to 3.73's, and there are others that got lower than i did completely stock

But he said it was stock & ran high 13's. Not low. Thats why I was thinkin it was a N/A supra. Since in a post above someone stated that a 6-speed supra TT runs low 13's stock & a auto runs high 13's.

For his stock LT1 A4 to pull it that much it had to have been N/A.

Yea, except stock 6sp TT's don't run low 13's stock.

I'm sure someone will now chime in and argue about how they do, and maybe with slicks, a launch off the limiter, and a 20mph tailwind one might. But it's not fact.

The better question would be, where the hell did you see a "stock" Supra? Most all of the ones I've seen around or for sale at least have some +++ mods.

i was just commenting on lt1's not being mid to high 13's capable stock, they are out there that can do it ... hell if mine had come with the 3.23 option instead of the shitty 2.73's when it was stock it would have run 13's bone stock at 95000 miles on it

Maybe, with a perfect driver, and the LT1 not driving too well. But, in reality (and most cases), if it were he would have butchered the Toyota by more than 2 lengths, even a 5 speed N/A MKIV. If it were an N/A auto Poopra, the outcome would have been not too pretty (those are low-mid 16 sec. cars at best).

Good kill. I ran a Poopra at Speedway, and that car was ridiculously traction impaired. He ran a 2.4 sec. 60' and a 12.6 @ 117mph 1/4 mile time. I couldn't hold off his advance. I think he was on street tires, and was kicking out a little over 450whp. The problem with Supras is that almost 9 out of 10 of them are modded.

A bone-stock Supra TT can run mid 13's/high 13's ALL DAY long... This is OLD news... Car's been out for a while now and there is an enormous range of track times for this to be commonly accepted. Sooo...

I say that the Supra driver needed more Driver Mod. It's a pretty good match I see.

Either way, a kill is a kill, so nice kill.

thanks for the nice comments. like i said before, i do not know if it was a twin turbo. are all supras twin turbos stock? as for my car it ran high 13s completely stock with 120k miles. i guess you could call my car a "factory freak". thats what a lot of people said about my car. unfortunatly it was totalled by a large Bronco that ran a red light a couple of years ago. i came to ls1tech to read up because i want to get an ls1 when i graduate university. one more year baby!

As bboyferal said, "a kill is a kill"! Good Job! If I was in the shoes you were in and confronted a tool like that, I would glady bring out the can of whoop *** and kill a fellow supra owner! You can have a fast car, but you don't have to be an ***! So again good job on your kill.

They don't run low 13's stock? Damn... Car and Driver ran a 13.18 with one bone stock in 1993. I think Road and Track ran a 13.6 with theirs, then ran a 14.2 with a LT1 Corvette...

The record is a LOW LOW 13. I think a 13.0 has been recorded, maybe even a 12 or two. So... By comparison, you are saying a LS1 is not a low 13's car, just because some ran it doesn't mean that is what it is?
