Default My SS vs Cobalt SS

I was on my way home from a local f-body meet and this Cobalt SS decides to follow me onto the highway. I let him pass me and he waits for me to catch up. He down shifts and jumps at me to let me know he wants to play. So i figured what the hell i've been lookin for a race for weeks. So i role down the window and tell him to go on 3. So i honk 3 times and we both hit it and from 60-120 i put buslengths on this guy! So he drives by and his friend throws my a peace sign but the driver would not even look in my direction. I thought it was pretty fun since i rarely get any action. I know it wasnt much of a race but i was so excited i got to run that i thought i would post my KILL.

PS
I thought the Cobalt was going to be fast because he followed me for like 15 miles just to race me.

lol i had pretty much the same encounter with a black one where i live. same outcome.lol and i also have a 2000 pewter ss. this kid kept telling me his friend was goin to murder me in his cobalt it had only intake and lowering springs. they both were like yah he killed a z06 the other day . Anyways i like what the hell we go to the kids house and follow each other to the highway. i raced him like 5 or 6 times. lol shouldnt have even wasted my gas. i might have put on a train length or two. he kept telling me becuase he was missing either 3rd or 4th, lol typical thing to say for a sorry sport.Anyways nice rape job

Thats hillarious. It just so happens that the one i raced was black too. I played with this guy for a while and i wasted my gas too. It really was train lengths. That thing was damn slow.

Not all cobalt SS are supercharged. If you put buslengths on him I"m guessing he was N/A. The SC ones trap 99-101 stock.

Yeah that's the one thing i hate is when the local cobalt guys say they beat z06's and c6's. i own both and i know their is no way in hell it could happen. even when you add the number's a cobalt with all the current available mods 295 whp 2900 lbs. A Z06 stock 350 rwhp at 3050 lbs. Z06 more aerodynamic. Z06 tighter gear ratio's. Cobalt front wheel drive p215's. Z06 rear wheel drive p295's. The number's don't lie.

actually no, there are quite a few non SC SS's. There are 2.4 and i believe 2.2 SS Models, The supercharged ones are 2.0 With eatons. My buddy has a stage 2 with a ton of upgrades, Very quick car. Sound pretty badass too with a tiny pulley!

there are 3 different ss cobalt's. One is a coupe and has a 2.4 liter N/A enigine and make a claimed 173 horse at the flywheel. There is a sedan version that also has a 2.4 N/A motor and has 173 hp. Both of these cars are slow and run low 15's stock. Finally there is the supercharged 2.0 liter cobalt coupe. This one is low to mid 14's stock and makes about 230 flywheel horse stock. The 2.2 is for the Lt and LS cobalt's only makes 145 flywheel horse and is not meant to go fast.

I figured it was supercharged because from 60 to about 80 he was only about 1/2 a car back and after that i left him.
Dont they run 14's stock??

The 2.4 in a maunel are too bad but the auto are terrible.
