killed a lightning, literally!!
went out for some fun tonight with a couple of my boys. one has an 03 Lightning w/ a few mods. i dont know exactly but i know he put 463/506 to the wheels. my other friend has a 97 civic 2 door with a fully built b18, he puts down 216/142 to the wheels.
me n the lightning went first and of course hes on street tires, so he threw the no traction flag immediatley. so we agree to go from a 30 roll. 3 honks and we take off, instantly pull because of him spinning. once he catches traction it was over, i was already 5 or 6 cars ahead. we go stop to talk about it and his engine starts to smoke and make a funny clank noise. and then it just dies. dont know what happened yet but it doesnt look pretty.
the second race was between me and the civic. we go from the same roll, 30mph and honk 3 times and every gear i prolly put a car to a car and half on him. shut down at the top of 3rd with 3 or 4 cars on him, it wasnt pretty. both were nice cars, but just werent enough for the ol SS!

Lol, well time for a shameless plug Tell your buddy if he did blow his motor to PM me, I work for a company that builds some of the baddest Lightning motors in the Country and he wont find a better price. Were on the SVT Board (Modular Speedworx) and have sold quite a few built motors on there, they handle up to 1200hp, which should be enough for him
As for the race, it would have been a decent race if the Lightning hadnt spinned im assuming. I know a guy with less hp that hangs with a 400 hp Cobra with a bit less power than your friend makes, although hes always on DR's. As for the Civic thats not bad, my buddy puts down like 230 or so on his b18 in his GSR and I've seen him pull stock SS's pretty hard.

Nice runs. Too bad about the L......I was thinking of getting one and 450 hp/500 q rwpower is about the max the stock block can handle...I wouldn't even go that high myself...but as pete says...just time to put a stronger block in there.
