got my **** handed to me......
Took off work to go out of town (dallas metro). I'm there maybe four minutes outside of Crowley when a white w/ blue stripes '06 Cobra pulls up revving like all 'stangs do. We agree to go from a 15 roll and it was a race until about 25 mph, then it was just the 'stangs ***-end. Then fortunately we hit a light and decide to go from a dig, that was a race up until 20 mph, once again, 'stangs ***-end. I'd say he would get about 2-3 cars before letting off and giving me some catch up time. It was a fun experience though! Come to find out he has underdrive pulleys, a blower pulley, (but he wouldn't tell me what size), and an unnamed exhaust. I will say that eventhough I hate 'stangs, i love the sound of that blower! Oh well, keep on keepin' on

I'm starting to eat my own words. The GT500's are doing some
pretty respectable things in terms of power & track times with
limited mods...even at stock raceweight. Upgraded internals and
a 3.0L Whipple will make insane power. Just a little there...sorry.
GT500's are American muscle. We should all embrace them and
race them.

The more I look at the new Stang the less I want one. Too much $ for something that is not that far above an '04 Cobra with a few mods.
Sorry, guys...off topic a bit...
99WS7: Looks like the tarmac at Abilene AFB.
I was there with the former 96th CES from '87 to '92. A LOT of muscle cars in Abilene.
