Default got my **** handed to me......

Took off work to go out of town (dallas metro). I'm there maybe four minutes outside of Crowley when a white w/ blue stripes '06 Cobra pulls up revving like all 'stangs do. We agree to go from a 15 roll and it was a race until about 25 mph, then it was just the 'stangs ***-end. Then fortunately we hit a light and decide to go from a dig, that was a race up until 20 mph, once again, 'stangs ***-end. I'd say he would get about 2-3 cars before letting off and giving me some catch up time. It was a fun experience though! Come to find out he has underdrive pulleys, a blower pulley, (but he wouldn't tell me what size), and an unnamed exhaust. I will say that eventhough I hate 'stangs, i love the sound of that blower! Oh well, keep on keepin' on

I'm starting to eat my own words. The GT500's are doing some
pretty respectable things in terms of power & track times with
limited mods...even at stock raceweight. Upgraded internals and
a 3.0L Whipple will make insane power. Just a little there...sorry.

GT500's are American muscle. We should all embrace them and
race them.

Wouldnt it be stupid to put an underdrive pulley on a supercharged car? Or is that just me thinking.

well if your stock and he didnt kill you to bad that really isnt to bad. Cam and spray would have been a differnt story. But yes, the new Cobras are SICK. I used to have a pulleyed full exhasust L and it was no dog.

The more I look at the new Stang the less I want one. Too much $ for something that is not that far above an '04 Cobra with a few mods.

Sorry, guys...off topic a bit...

99WS7: Looks like the tarmac at Abilene AFB.

I was there with the former 96th CES from '87 to '92. A LOT of muscle cars in Abilene.

I agree..stating I almost bought a new GT500, but I wasn't going to pay 65k and they wouldn't come down. But there is one thing the gt500 has more of. And that's potential. The GT500 is a 5.4L. It doesn't take much to make it a 10 second car.

Nice death to the OP

ANd that's why a smart buyer will get an quality used '08 in 2010 for cheap. I will NEVER buy a 1st year anything, let alone pay dealer mark-up of any kind.

Why do you think we told them no? We aren't going to spend that kind of cash on a first year car. And we certainly aren't going to pay $20k mark up on any car, let alone a first year.

They have since sold it.....and when my AB is done....I will be looking for it.
