VW GTI R32 annoyed me

VW GTI R32 annoyed me So me and my buddies were cruising home from the bar last night and an VW R32 with some kids in it pull up...It had the euro plates and the exhaust the whole nine yards.
We start off slow at the light and he punches it. I hit it and my car is basically standing still because I can't hook up at all....Absolutely no traction at all for first and second. He didnt really gain on me at all but he did get a head start and I spun like crazy
. By the time I caught him and was ready to pass him he shut down and put on his hazards 
Anyway we turned onto another road and the same thing happened. I spun so bad I thought I was going to fishtail into him so I let off for a second and then as I reeled him in the same **** happened
Pissed me off big time..It was so damn cold out I just couldn't hook

drag radials will help if you heat them up, i tried launching the car in cold weather with cold tires and it gets sideways all the time, even from a low roll

I wouldnt say I lost actually. I know how to drive. I did ease into it without mashing the throttle...In fact I didnt have the car floored until I had traction. I'm not some 18 year old kid.
