my Zo6 c5 vs Cobra svt 
... life sucks guys. i just bought this zo6 3 mths ago. i currently races this cobra in a "safe" environment and i got told. i totally lost. of the line he smoked me by 5 cars then i caught up by 3. my tires are gone and i have no traction. my launches are alright, infact i tied this z06 ones that had 9 yrs exp on the track with fbodies. i used to beat 00 z28's with a 96 formula i had so my driving skills are good. im just ashamed that i lost that bad and killed the reputation for the LS's. sorry guys. any suggestions. am i supposed to kill a cobra. all i know is he had nitto's so his traction was good. i was burning out till 4rth gear. i rolled off the car but it would still spin. i was driving it in comp mode btw. well, i just hope i can get some tips cus im about to get some tires (need suggestions) and any other tips for our race in one month for half a grand. thanx all.

plus sounds like your car is somewhat stock. stock vs stock you would kill him. he prob has the pulley upgrades and what not. its all good. still love your car

Yep...you've only had the car for 5 months. Depending on how much seat time you have spent practicing, I wouldn't expect you to run the best ETs, even if you drive Fbods very well. Remember, all cars are different.
In general, yes a C5 Z06 would beat a stock Cobra. With DR's alone, they are low 12 sec. cars, which puts it 'on par' with a stock Z06. Throw on a CAI, and Catback, and he is easily high 11s.
Practice, practice.....that's all it takes.

well..im alright i guess. i did 7.89 on the eight with roll off since tires kept spinning. im just pissed off. i also had a 15 in the back so weight is an issue. the cobras gears sounded hard as hell and could hear it winding up for miles. those tires got to go (old *** toyos. lol) thanx guys. DR's are my next choice. i guess i feel a lil better now that i remember the guy was modded and i went from a 5 car loss to a 3 car loss on an eight. i was gonna ask for a lead on DR's but i hate when ppl post on the wrong topics. lol. thanx again (ps. i would rather have the handling i have now that gie it up for a 2 car loss with baldies to a cobra-----Z06 = pSSy magnet, specially at 20 yrs old. lol sorry , ill go away now!!!)

Start with tires then get some bolt ons bro. Cat back,MTI throttlebody,CAI,underdrive pulley!!!! Those are some good boltons for sure. Go from a roll next time to

My head hurts... Seriously it does. Did I just read that you have a ***** magnet, and that you drove your boyfriend's 96 ta at the track before? Also, I'm assuming this is an 03/04 cobra you ran? When you said weight was in issue because you had a 15 in the back, what the heck are you talking about? I couldn't make out jack **** in your posts, sorry.
