Default Whats a k24 in the import world?

Does anyone know what a k24 is in the import world??? I raced one since it was the only thing that seemed worth racing. It does high 12's at the track, anyone know what kind of work it might have done? He said he has $8K in motor, no juice according to him. I think the body is like a 96, hatchback.

Its a pretty fast motor in the Honda racing world. Usually a stock K24 in a 92-95 Civic Hatchback can hit 12.5 and it usually costs $8K for the complete swap.

WOW!! 8 grand to run a mid/high 12. Impressive, lol.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_K_engine

I like how the article even mentions "HP per Liter". Must have been a ricer who wrote that article up. The K24A2 variant with the most power out of all the K24's puts out 205HP 166 lbs-ft.

I dont think these motors are 12 second motors, at least not in stock form.

they put them in light cars. it wouldn't be a 12 second motor in a camaro/trans am, but in a car that's light enough...coooould be.

i'm not a fan of the whole swap into a paperweight honda thing, but i respect fast.

There's a cool track car i think jackson racing has. Yellow crx with a s/c k24. Power to weight is good on that car.

There must not be any ricers in jolly old england for you to be defending them like that. We deal with them on a regular basis here and they are annoying.

OR maybe he is actually not a narrowsighted asshat like a lot of people around here. I don't think the comment that inspired 300bhp/ton's comment was all that bad, but I find people's attitudes about "ricers" and imports in generaly MUCH more annoying than any kid with a fart can exhaust.

/End rant

I would disagree because the fart can and the wing is what gives the ricer his name. People cant help it that they are given reasons to make fun of them. I will say that i do respect the fast ones but not the ones that have a body kit and a pipe on the car and say that it added 20 hp.

I didn't expect many people to agree There's just so so much ignorance and closemindedness in the american muscle car circles. It's a shame. It makes me respect people like 300bhp/ton even more though because he actually sees through the bull.

We were neck to neck all the way, but at the finish line I had about half a bumper on him. It was a good race, and respect to the import's, like anything with the right combo you can be FAST. I wasn't expecting it from this guy but he gave me the typical ricer excuese’s though (he said he's all motor, and that his shifter broke). He wanted to race up to the speed that he traps at the track, but that's not how we street race out here, we do it up to the 4th telephone pole out in the country.
I had a 75 shot of the giggly.

I didnt think a simple comment like I made could **** so many perople off. You guys are sore little bitches. I made 1 ******* comment about "HP per liter" and now a whole bunch of you are all butthurt. Stop being such bitches already.

Anyway to the thread starter, good kill man. That honda must be really light or modded good to keep up with you on a 75 shot because 200 HP just aint cutting it in the full weight honda.
