Default new threat well mabe soon. GXP solstice/sky redline

yea yea i know alot of people probly gonna flame me now. but here me out.

one stock has already run 14 flat. dunno what the exact stats were. another goof ball ran 14.2 with TC on saying he floored it but couldtn figure out why the car felt like it would stop the power back and forth.... go figure..
one of them dynoed 240 whp stock i belive. not to shabby for a 3000lb car.

and their is already an aftermarket for them. with larger turbo/ ECM tuning/ ehxuast ect. and i seen some dynoes of another with a new exhaust by one of the top brands dont remember which. and they did a dyno and gained 14ish rwhp. and that was with a resdesigned 2.5''. anyhow.

i myself am looking to purchase one once the mania of them selling goes away. but. because of the cars huge sucess in drifting competitions helping the aftermarket on it also. id say those car in another year will be a rather big threat on the streets

It was a solstice with the LS7 and it was insane. They used a CTS-V rear end though...

There was one at Firebird last time I was there and it just sat in the lot. WTF?

Anyway, yeah, they look like a great overall car. What Im curious about is if you can swap in the longer stroke Ecotech crank and make a 2.2-2.4L

Do that with a circa 50lbs per minute turbo like a 50trim and you have one nasty quick car with a lot of midrange.

I drove one two days ago since my dealership, is also a saturn dealer. I have driven the NA cars, and they are slow as *****. No fun at all. But, like I said, I drove one, a turbo SKY, and I honestly was impressed. It was alot of fun.

We are, without a doubt going to be modding them. Should be fun for a four cylinder.

Oh....and I'd recommend one if you were looking for a fun, easy to modify ride.

However, it is a little tight inside the car. If your a big boy..you might have issues.

You are correct. I am 6'3'' and it barely has enough room for me, I'd drive one though. BTW, how much are they going for?

Damn, I just checked Saturn's website, MSRP $29.995. So basically the price of a low mileage C5 Z-0h, no thanks.

I bet they are a hoot to drive. My dad just got back from the Dodge Ride, Drive, and Win event in Grand Prarie and he really enjoyed the SRT6 Crossfire, but not for $50k, .

What I AM interested in driving is the new MazdaSpeed3. They didn't have them at the Zoom-Zoom Live! events this year although the MazdaSpeed6 was fun, but with 263 at the front wheels, six speed and an LSD, I bet the 3's are pretty impressive and they sticker at $23k, not too bad.

the new turbo ecotec is some serious ****. direct injection, new piston cooling system, bunch of other ****. I wouldn't be surprised to see a couple making upwards of 500hp once the shops get ahold of them.

I was going to buy my g/f a regular solstice when i first started seeing them. And the websites everywhere said that the MSRP was "SUPPOSE" to be between 19-23k pretty reasonable i thought. **** you can't even get a base model around here for less then 25k. Screw that bought her a new Mazda 3s, now i wish i woulda waited for the Mazdaspeed3
