Death to near stock LS1
alright im not afraid to admit that i lost to 99Z28 lastnite in a drag race....ok lemme set the scene for ya...headed out lastnite w/ one of my buds and hid mach1 to local meet...get there and come to find out most of the guys had already left(due to previous week, cops are bitch around here)....well we head to the race area anyway....we arrive and there are only a couple of imports, WS6,Z28,LT1, 3000VR4....well its freakin cold out(30+degrees)...and the kid w/ his Z ask if i wanna run em..."sure i wont have traction, but **** it"....we head down to line em up, and he proceeds to lite the tires abit...well being my retarted self, i didnt(not to mention I DIDNT TAKE ASR OFF!!! well we launch.....well he launches, i freakin bog er down and im playin 1 1/2 car catch up....we were only racin 1/8 of a mile b/c of the road but i reel him in by the end of 3rd but before i could pass, i had to let off due to an approaching hill(end of the race)....OF COURSE i wanted to redeem myself...however this area is bad for cops and peeps kept flashin lights as they went by so everyone became paranoid and i never got a chance to run em again ....sooo i have to accept the loss....but we talked before the race and he was aware of my cars potential...but a loss is a loss.....mods LS6 intake, ported TB, 8.5MSD wires,B&M ripper, Lid w/ K&N, smooth bellow, MAC's, 3inch Y, SI2 Custom Grind Comp 224/224 .581 .581 112lsa

Yeah it hurts being beat by a less modded car but remember that anything can happen on the street. It is all about the situation.
Just a tip, unplug the ASR module under the hood. It will automatically be turned off when you start the car. It is that black plastic thing that all the cables go into on the passenger side.

Was this Z28 someone we know? Don't sweat it dude....I've been beat every single street race I've had in the past couple weeks due to my tranny. I'm just going to let everyone keep beating up on me and then "forget" to mention when I get the new tranny/tune/4K stall/DR's put on.

Nice death to another LS1 owner
But it's not very smart to be racing when it's cold out and roads are cold as well. I had to find that out the hard way... Raced an evo from 20mph roll when it was around 35 degrees out while I was still on summer tires. I was spinning a little bit when we took off, but when I shifted to second my car went sliding all over the road almost hitting the evo and the curb... Thank god I was able to keep the car somewhat stable and didn't run into anything or anyone, but a lesson was learned and I will never race from a dig or anything below 50mph when it's below 45 degrees outside!
