Default 2 cammed camaros vs. 07 911 Turbo

Whats up everyone thought i would share my story about my run-in with a new 911 turbo.

Me 99 Camaro 6spd - mods in sig, still untuned, no nitrous
My buddy 98 camaro 6spd - Tr224/224, full exhaust, 12-bolt(4.33s), no nitrous
vs.

07 911 Turbo 6spd - im pretty sure it was stock, it still had temp tags on it.

My friend and i were driving around and came accross this nasty looking porsche. we all pulled into a gas station and started talking. The porsche owner was a real cool guy, and really knew his ****. my buddy and i asked if he wanted to go make a few runs. he agreed and we headed out to a COMPLETELY empty freeway(all 3 cars had radars)

1st run - from a dig, of coarse the porsche took us both because its AWD
2nd run - second gear roll, we both hung with it threw 2nd, and in third the porsche started putting cars on us

at this point my buddy and i were not all that impressed, and figured we could both take it on spray, but i didnt want to spray my car without the tune for the cam yet, and my friends bottle was empty.

3rd run - roll from about 35mph - porshe chirps all four tires and starts putting car after car on us both.

At this point were both thinking that the 911 turbo would still take us both on spray. this thing was ALLLLLL top end.

I could not believe it. i had no idea those cars were that fast. we went to my buddies house and looked them up online. Its rated at 480hp and 460tq. I have to say that i was impressed. it seems like every porsche if dealt with in the past were not that great. but this thing was a monster.

Anybody else have a run in with one of these?

How much rwhp are you making off the spray?

They are fast cars. They trap at 121-122, stock.

Good runs and deaths to a worthy opponent! I think you may have taken them on Spray if Fadi is right.

Yeah they are badass cars. Guy right by my house has a SOM colored one, and its sick. Price tag is a hefty $130k tho, so they had better have some power. Good runs, hopefully you see him again when you have the nitrous hooked up, and he hasn't decided to put some aftermarket work in himself .

Cool death, those new 911 Turbo's are screamin stock. I've not had a chance to race an 07 but the 05's have one hell of a top end as well. I took an 05 in my B-bird by 2 lengths from 45mph roll up till about 120. After that he started pulling me hard. Looks like they are doing good out of the hole now as well.

Yeah once we saw that price tag we didnt feel all that bad.

I dont have any numbers yet for my car, its going in for the tune on the 17th. My buddies car made 497whp on spray, and 385whp n/a. i should be close, if not a little more then those numbers after my tune, considering my cam is a little bit bigger.

Yea...I read a review a few weeks ago were a magazine ran a 12.0 at 120 mph with two people in the 911TT and in SNOW TIRES!!!!

Car can easily run high 11's at low 120's..A force to be reckoned with (Even the c6z06 from a dig)

They're mid-high 11s cars, easily... I might actually (in all seriousness) give my left nut to own one, so if anybody knows somebody that wants to buy one for $150k, let me know...

i ran in to a brand new white 07 but i scared him away. i think because my exhaust is to loud and the fact that i purged the nitrous which runs out the nostrols of the hood scared him a little to much. i would have love to run him just to see how i stacked up.

Don't forget that if the 911 has the sport chrono option, torque goes up to over 500 for 10 second bursts.

The 911 pulls very, very hard for a 500hp car. Really hauls ***. I was very impressed. Even the old ones run pretty hard and take very well to mods, you can crank them up to about 500ish with just ecu work that raises the boost a little.

Dunno. Not a whole lot I think. 10-12lbs on a 3.6 liter Flat Six, if I recall correct.

I have a buddy running nearly 30lbs in a full weight 996 TT, and when we ran it was like I popped a chute, and my car isnt exactly slow.

Noble death for sure...it's like watching an E55 run 12.2's with a Chick behind the wheel! and we work so hard to run the same times, they just turn the key..just wrong..
