Got killed on the way home....
by a HS kid (with his apparent girlfriend) in a red 4th gen Z28. I was in the left lane minding my own business, when I saw him pull up on my right with that "grin" (you know the one, that "I'm going to kick your azz, old man" smile). He did this like 3 times, and I'm thinking WTH? (doesn't this kid recognize what I've got?)
There is a van coming up in front in his lane, so I accelerate forward and move over to the right lane. Predictably, he moves around the van and pulls up on my left, does the little "hokey pokey" surge (you know, the one step forward, another step back).
So I think, what the he77. I drop into 2nd, tac it to about 3500, a let it go in my newly repaired and registered 1989 Mazda 2.2l MX-6. He put like a bus on me in a city block!
Okay, so this story was a little less than you expected. Incidently, the Mazda has been our teenager beater car since 2000 (we have 6 children - 3 still home). I guess with 137k miles on the clock, the old girl just doesn't keep up anymore.
Anyway, this seems to always happen when the SS is in the garage.
My 16 year old daughter was crackin' up when I told her about it.

those people always seem to come around at the worst times... i drive a company truck for the local NAPA store and it seems like every time i hit the highway with it, i see another kid riding his "high horse" thinking he's all "high and mighty." oh well... at least u tried haha.

i know what yall mean it really sucks, almost hurts to do all that work and prepping to have it wasted when you are in the family cruiser and can't fight back. maybe i should just drop a olds big block in the family alero to solve the prop.
