Had a little run with the new convertible Carrera 4S
Got my Hawk a few months ago and haven't been driving it much because of the cold weather, but today I finally got my first race in it
Gotting on the highway with two of my friends in the car and 911 behind me. It was a new convertible model, '06-'07, it's a 3.8L I6 with 355hp and 295tq, also AWD and weighs about 3400lbs. He passed me going 75mph when I was in 6th going 65mph or so. Saw him and his girlfriend eyeing my car. My friends wanted me to see what I can do against the porsche.
As soon as he passed me I got behind him in the left lane(there were cars in the middle lane) and downshifted to 4th going around 70-75mph. Could've shifted to 3rd, but didn't think it was necessary. He started speeding up and I put the pedal to the metal. At first he kept 2-3 car lead that he got from a start, but as rpms started climbing pretty fast and I was already in my power band of 4h gear going 100+ I started closing the gap between us and once I was car and a half or so away from his bumper I had to peddle it down.
There was a nice little curve on the highway and we had to slow down to 115mph. That's when I got an opening in the middle lane and mashed my gas pedal again. Started gaining on him and then we hit the traffic.
So I never passed him, but my car was definitely faster and with an open straight road I should've pulled on him.
Clifnotes: 70mph roll, 2 people in my car, one in his. I'm in 4th gear VS 911 Carrera 4S, started gaining on him, but left off because of traffic.

Sounds about right then... the perfomance numbers I know of are for the coupe, but they run mid twelves in coupe form, and have a 179mph topspeed. Basically very close with a normal C6.

Nice kill!!
I ran an 06-07 coupe about 1 1/2 months ago. I was in 4th as well from about 80-130. He fell back to by bumper and stayed there til we shut down. Those are sick cars but i felt really good beating a somewhat exotic. It was brand new....didnt even have plates

AWD and a convertable were to his disadvantage for sure, but I had one more person in my car and started off in higher gear.
Given perfect conditions (no extra weight, right gear, straight road) I think I would pull a few cars on him Hopefully I'll run into him again
