Death by Hatchback
Went out cruising tonight and as soon as I pull in the hangout spot, a couple of guys who I happen to recognize from past races start walking toward me and don't even let me get out of the car before they start calling me out for a race. I have raced this guy on two seperate occasions in the past and beat him both times when all I had no Nitrous. I ask him about the car and all he would tell me is that he had a little more boost than last time, ( I beat him by 2 lengths last time). I agree to the race and we head out to the interstate. Since he has no horn in his car I honk and we kick em off and he pulls me 2 lengths from his roll (45mph) up to about 110mph. We head back and talk for a while and I ask him for another round with me spraying. He agrees and we head back out. His roll again, which was 65mph this time (ricer roll). I was in 4th because when the NX hits, it hits pretty hard and spins, even in 4th occasionally. I walk him about 3 cars on spray up to about 140. He claims that he never heard the horn and I got the hit, but I heard and saw him kick it. We raced one more time and I had hardly any bottle pressure left so it was just like the first race when I was on motor. So I guess if we played "run what you brung," I would take the "W".
I'm sorry for the long story, but I felt details are important in a death. If it was a kill, it would have been 3 sentences.

it doesnt really take alot of money to make a honda quick on the highway. they are light, the parts are a dime a dozen now and junkyard boost is becoming easier and easier by the day. if you are just wanting to go fast you can build a 300hp honda for 3000$ or less including the car. if you want it too look good too, thats where the money starts rollin in.

Lol, not necessarily. My friend is in the 10's and 20K would buy his whole car w/all current mods. (Full interior late-model Civic). He spent about 10K on his mods, including suspension, ect. Basically everything Honda did NOT put on it. He has friends and he did his own work and he has hook-ups. That helped a lot!
Good death, I used to laugh at Honda's until I saw his put down 706whp with low compression in 1 cylinder (110 as opposed to 180ish of the other 3).

Well, this guys car looked like crap, but I am willing to bet he has at least 7K in the motor with the swap, turbo setup, and all the dynotuning done to it. He was brake boosting me also from his roll, because he wouldn't go from mine, either time. Some guys around here have some serious rice burners. Buddy I work with has an integra with 556fwhp. Its mostly unusable until he gets to 70mph but still. Just don't underestimate these little guys if you hear a loud spooling turbo.

That sux man! What shot were you running? Get a bottle heater and keep it full!!!! Buy a new bottle so you can always have a full one if needed. Sounds like they were waiting on you. You best go back for revenge now!

I will get revenge soon enough. He actually got revenge on me last night since I had beaten him twice previously. Hey, you can't win em all, but I am running a rich 140 or so shot now. I will put 150 pills in later and a little smaller fuel jet and I will catch him from a lower roll next time and that should take care of him. As far as just over 300hp....I have my doubts, on 17 or 18lbs, he should be making 350 on that motor.

well, he heard I made a post on this site and corrected me on the facts about his car. He said I was talking **** on here and needed to get the facts straight. Someone please let me know if anything posted above by me was "**** talking" because I don't think it was. He claims it has the stock motor, 1.6 SOHC. I guess it is only a stock block now. Turbo with 17lbs. He wouldn't make any claims on hp numbers although I told all about my car because i'm not trying to hide anything. He said he has $1,500 invested in the motor thus far. Nothing too outlandish I guess. Pretty fast little car though. Next time I will know not to run you on just motor, unless you want to take that turbo off and run me while you are on just motor. And i'm tired of racing from your roll. We will go from my roll next time.
