WRX vs my bolt on Ultra-Z
a black wrx was riding my ***, then turned into the middle lane and gunned it. he ended up attempting to make a left hand turn ahead. so when i passed him, I reved my car to about 6500rpms. i saw out of my rear-view mirror that the wrx got back onto the road and caught up to me. we chatted b4 hitting a red light. of course we raced... duh! he told me b4 the light turned green that he had an upgraded turbo. when the light turned green, i gently left the clutch out and punched it, then hit the clutch in and reved it up about 2500rpms and let off the clutch and took off. he stayed about 3 car lengths behind until i got into 3rd and then i doubled my lead. i hit 4th and slowed down. i felt bad for the kid and told him that his wrx was one of the fastest ones i raced even faster than a local sti... he then turned around after giving my props and headed back for the left turn he passed up earlier. 1,000,000 for my Z and still 0 for rice.

i'd love to. i get compliments on the car all the time. i need to do something about that stock crappy/dull looking grill!!! i've got the front and rear clear side-markers and next is the wheels b/c i'd like to fit a wider tire on the rear. also, i started to paint the front calipers yellow and never made it to the rear ones lol.

You dont find many people with 353 rwhp and 370+ rwtq with bolt ons either... FWIW I took my 98 camaro in my sig (with the weaker factory rod bolts) to 6500 rpms a few times no problem. Also, DOn at Dez Racing took it to 6700 rpms twice on the dyno so I would say your safe at 6300 rpms.

Yea I def hear you but if you stay around 6300 rpms I wouldnt worry too much. I almost crapped my pants though when Don was dynoing it and taking it to 6700 rpms haha...I thought it would be instant death on my 98 rod bolts but they held fine. If you want to rev it up higher id say just pick up a set of aftermarket rod bolts for piece of mind but again at 6300 rpms I dont think your in any real danger of blowing your engine.

Is there an aftermarket cam in there already? If not id def do a cam swap when you do the springs/pushrods/retainers.

Start on the left side end on the right side if your looking at it from the front of the car.

It's the driver's attitude and how he sets up the car that makes a ricer out of a perfectly nice Subbie. Sideways hat = automatic ricer! Bullshit stickers... same. etc.

agree jim, i can't stand those goffy decals and stickers. there's a mid 90s 2 dr. honda around my around that is a magenta color and has a BIG Accel sticker on it between the back of the drivers door and the rear wheel-well lol. so goofy. could be worst though, it's only one sticker lol
