1998 SS vs 2003 Cobra *video*
Last night, I got called out on svtperformance by a guy from Nashville with a Cobra. I agreed to do some day time runs today. The guy I met was a super nice fellow who had a bad car!
Real good runs. We ran three times. The first race (video) was a good clean run, the 2nd run I about lost it and aborted, the 3rd race I jumped the gun - got back into it and it was too late.
So the run I'm posting is the clean run.
About the cars:
Me (JKDZ28) 1998 Camaro SS 6-speed
Mods:
SLP Lid
Ported TB
LS6 Intake Manifold
Pacesetter Lts
TSP ORY
Borla
Ram Powergrip HD clutch
VS
(98Rsnake) 2003 DSG Cobra
Mods:
JLT CAI
Magnaflow Catback
other little stuff I can't remember
The run was a 2nd gear punch 40ish - 125ish mph.
It was a real close run - neck to neck.
Here is the video:

Video isn't working for me, but doesn't really matter. Sounds like you had fun. I can't find a near stock cobra around here. Thus, I've ordered a cam to keep up with some of these guys, and nitrous to keep up with the others.

I was wondering what exactly "other little stuff" meant. His blower is ported. That's not "little". Lol. But I went on SVTP and checked his mods for those of you who wanted to know. The Cobra's mods are:
Ported Blower
2.76 Pulley
Long Tubes
Weld In Flows
Tune
He doesn't have a full Cat back or mid pipe so that's hurting him. He's missing out on about 30RWHP from those. With the mods the Cobra has, he should be around 475-485RWHP.
