Short race - Me vs SRT-10 Ram
Nothing major here but thought Id share because I had fun. Getting gas tonight and I hear "you think that things fast?" I look over to an old grey-haired black man standing by his truck and said that yes it was fast. I continued to give the guy compliments on his truck and stuff but he refused them by telling me how fast his was, what types of Mustangs he can beat, and that his truck has 600hp and that I "must not know what he's got". I just said yeah its got the Viper motor and that I'd be happy to see what would happen. Anyway, I got tired of his 16 year old mouth and left the station without looking at him to go home, but he followed and told me to hit it. First try was stupid because there was a car in front of me and not him, so Im sure he will tell people about that "run". Second one I downshifted to 2nd but not sure what mph and so did he...we punch at the same time and stay even half way through 2nd then I started to pull, hit 3rd and he was by my back bumper. He immediately slammed on the brakes and turned into the KFC, so I turned around too and waited in this parking lot to honk and wave when he left, but he took too long so I went home. I wish we coulda gone longer but maybe next time.

Good kill. That reminds me of some dude in a H2 supercharged hummer with BIG spinners tried to race me. It looked more like a circus event to me than a race with those BIG spinners. lol

good kill, sux it didnt last long...had a guy like that tell me his lightning was 500hp and ran 10's...he said he had a "performance chip and cold air intake"....he also insisted on telling me it was supercharged 17 times...i go outside and find out the damn thing had a stock exhaust and a dearbasher on the front of it. needless to say that he stayed in the gas station until after i left. must be a thing with old guys and trucks

Yea it's really funny how older guys think their 13 second hot rods are un beatable..
I get it all the time from guys in volkswagons and trucks as well as old shcool hot rods..
They keep bragging to me about 12's and 13's and and their 427's or 454's ( that are rated around 400 HP but really only dyno around 300 rwhp...
Ive tried a million times to tell them that the LS1 put down just as much at the wheels BONE STOCK and only weighs 3250-3500 pounds and has run 12's bone stock on more than one ocassion. But it's like the only thing they here is engine size and RATED HP..Those rating systems for HP from the 60's were a joke by todays standards and they were GROSSLY overrated ....

the reg cabs are pretty quick. i woudl always race on of my friends in his extended cab srt-10 i just had exhaust (a4 2:73s) and he had intake exhaust and a "chip" and he would pull ahead from a 40 roll and i would reel him in slowly and pass him by about 120ish.
