Default Stepped on a Snake

Well, I am not that creative soo...here it is:

75-11X I put 1 car on the 99-01 Cobra. Slow crawl, I just threw it in 4th and wound it out. At around 5300rpm I started pulling. Ended up about 3/4-1 car ahead

My 5.0 isnt as bad as I thought

No your 5.0 isn't that bad then. My best friend has a 99 Cobra and it's faster than hell. Course it's not stock, but either way not too shabby for a 5.0. Is it a fox body or 94-95?

What's the setup on the 5.0? A '99-01 Cobra is ~265rwhp stock, but they weigh about 3500lbs, and still have 3.27 gears, so they aren't much special without some longtubes and gears. Good run though

244 (around 5900rpm)/262 wtq (around 3500rpm)
3520# with me and about the same amount of gas in it as when we raced.

X303 cam
1.6 RR's
forged flat-tops
GT40P shaved .030
.030 gasket
TKO500 tranny
4.10 gears
O/R X-pipe
Force II catback (flowmaster)
MAC shorty headers
17" fixed flex fan (steel)
Underdriven crank pulley (just crank)
575 Speed Demon carb
MSD 6AL 7Krpm chip, Pro billet Dizzy

Best ET was 14.44 w 2.15 60' and bogging carb (holley 670 vac) and spinning when it kicked in
Best mph was 98.54 with a 2.2-3 60' spinning like a **** with the 575 carb.

My car is way faster than mid 14's. It ran that with a bogging carb that cut out on each shift and then spun the tires. It was horrid. The best 60' was a 2.15. Couple that with cutting out and spinning on each shift and 14.4 aint all that bad. I have seen LS1's do worse.

Realistically, on a tire, I think it is a mid 13 second car. The point is, his poor snake got crushed.

+1, on my tires I spin like crazy, my friend's 05 impala (regular 3.4L) took me 0-50 but then I blew by him when it hooked at the bottom of 3rd after short-shifting 1 and 2.

So is this still the same 5.0 that didn't run for **** anyhow? But it's always this was not right or that wasn't working or some other bs.

Do you still own an fbody?

EDIT: you sure it wasn't a V6 you were racing?

Don't know I haven't been following, I usually avoid their threads mostly as they usually end up with them whining like a baby about one thing or another.

Either way if its still the the same 5.0 running the same then I have my doubts. As they used to claim to beating Ls1's easy in it, meaning pulling hard on a C5 Corvette, while saying it was running great, then going to the track and only running mid 14's @ 98mph and coming out with the ricer excuses that the carb wasn't right or the track needed to be moved 2" to the left or something.

Damn!
I dont know man, but that's pretty funny his fox body would be a good race for my 305 camaro considering it falls on its face in the 60ft and dosnt start running till after with a 2.18 and 2.2 sixty foot and then cuts on and runs 9.00's in the 8th @79-80mph.

I think trapping less than 99mph or not, whether the ET should be better or not, a good-running Cobra *should* still pull. Not get pulled on. But it's said all the time... anything can happen on the streets.

Anything can happen on the street. The track shows how fast your car is. Racing on the street is a combination of many different things. The guy could have been in the wrong gear, late start, slipping clutch, running on 7 cylinders, the list goes on. Everyone keep in mind that a slow crawl of 1 car to around 110 is definitely a margin of error for equally matched cars. Had BLKWS.6 reacted a hair later he would be posting about losing by 1 car. Nice kill regardless.
