Default 00 T/A WS6 Vs. 98 Cobra

Ok, I was going to get my pizza I ordered, got up on the highway and a few miles down the road I catch up to a black 98 Cobra I had finally came up on one so I reved it up to get a response, and he took the bait. He dropped down and was making his car jump forward. So I dropped to third crusing at 65 and just honked three times and put it down. We went up to 125 and I had AT LEAST 5 car lengths on him Slowed back down for more but he wouldn't get anywhere close to me. Damn, it doesn't get any funner than that!!! (Unless it's a faster car ) Who says 98 cobras can keep up?? I thought it was a nice kill! Loved every second of it!

Good kill. From a roll is definately the weakness on them. From a dig it would have been close due to very agressive gearing in the tranny. -Mark

Nice kill, that is the outcome I would expect against a stock one.

yes! it never fails to see a "stang guy" defend the stang honor on a LS1 based website?

Your kidding me right? aggressive gearing in a stock 98 cobra that runs 14s in the 1/4 stock. Good kill it would have been ugly either way.

Show me in his post where he said it was a stock cobra. With the tranny gearing in the cobra it has a better chance from a dig. Would it win? Probably not but it would have be a closer race from a dig.

T56- 2.97 1st gear ratio
T45- 3.37 1st gear ratio.

That was my point.

No one knows if it is stock but the driver. A Stock 98 cobra with around 230rwhp isnt going to be much of a threat at a dig enless it has 4.10s or 4.30s in it even then it still isnt going to outrun a midly or stock ls1 It would be closer but still dont think so. he didnt say it was stock or not im just making a point if it was stock.

I seriously think people like you need to do some RESEARCH before posting up about something you have NO experience with. 96-98 Cobras put down between 260-270 RWHP. LS1 territory? Absolutely NOT but its not going to be a killing. I have ran more than a few stockish LS1s in my 97 Cobra at the track. At the beginning, we are even then the LS1 really wakes up by the 1/8th and by the full 1/4 they have me by about 1 1/2 cars. NOT 5. My Cobra is BONE STOCK. Traps 100-102 consistenly.

Nobody is saying that you are lying. So simma down now. On the street anything can happen. Just saying that from a dig the cobra has more of a chance than from a roll. My car is deadly from a dig for little hp is has.

230rwhp stock huh? lol. Its not a 302 ya know. -Mark

exactly my point. But I never mentioned anything about going from a dig to 100. I just stated that I pulled on it hard from 70 to 125. So I don't see the need to argue. Lets start another thread about a T/A vs. a 98 cobra at the strip, then we can all argue about it.

I was just making a statement. But you seem like a mustang fan, so Im not suprised by your sarcasm. It's not that hard to deal with, just state that the 03 cobra owns ls1's and everything'll be fine

And is that cookie chocolate chip??
