Default My GTO's 1st death...killed by WS6 :-(

At a gas station today gettin some petrol, and this bada$$ gold WS6 pulls in the pump right next to me. Dude gets out and we start bs'n...he was a very cool guy, and he was tellin me about the Pontiac/Chevy/Ford club drags. Long story short, we both end up gettin on the freeway at the same time and kind of ended up pacin each other. I exited to a VERY low volume freeway with hardly any traffic, and he follows. I was so excited to actually get a race of this kind (cuz my only other races have been like to 70ish from a stop besides one Stealth twin turbo I killed on a role), that my mind was goin 100mph, so I will try to get the details correct...

1st run - at about 70 I look at him and he jestures to basically go when I'm ready. I was in 3rd and rolled into it at first and then nailed it. For the first few seconds I didn't see him pullin at all, but I heard his motor workin and then I slowly saw his front end startin to show, and then we shut down for some reason at about 100ish?(traffic, turn, somethin) He gave me thumbs up and I waved and pointed to his car and told him "damn thats fast"

2nd run - I asked him if he wanted to go from a 60 roll, and he said sure. After we cleared thru any traffic (still hardly any), we lined up at 60. Same thing, he jestured to go when I was ready. This time I laid into it, and heard his WS6 goin strong. On the shift from 3rd to 4th I didn't get it into gear (and this is NOT an excuse because I had it in 4th about a second later, so it probably didn't make much difference) and once again he was slowly comin up on me, and I mean probably a foot a second. I shut down at about 125 and his back bumper was about a foot in front of my front bumper.

He said his mods were light, including 3.73 gears, and I thought I saw exhaust but maybe not, and I think it was lowered a bit. That car was freakin fassssst. I took the next exit and flashed him my lights to say nice kill. He said he is a member on this site under the name of WWS6, so hopefully he will see this and be able give his perspective and make sure I got this all right. Anyways, nice kill on his part, cool guy, and fun run(s), even though I'm not a huge fan of those speeds and street racing (I'm kind of a chickensh_t!) That was my first death but I'm happy with how my GTO performed!

The 04 GTO's arent as slow as people make them out to be.

When i had lid, bellow, maf, cutout and ported TB i ran my friends 04 GT0 that only has an intake. ANd from 60-130 i only beat him by a fender.

Then i put on LT's and duals and i give him the hit and walk right pass him. He couldnt believe how much faster i was after the full exhaust.

Yeah, it's kinda funny... As soon as the 05/06 6.0 GTO came out with the 400/400, all of the sudden the 5.7 2004's were "slow" haha! Funny thing is that the 05/06's ARE faster, but only by a half a second 0-60 & 1/4 mile. It's rare to have a bada$$ WS6 pull up at a gas station and then be able to run it!
