killed a shelby today
he is coming the opposite way of me so i give a little rev thinking we could line up on a day when were going the same direction. well i look back and he is fliping a bitch and gets on my ***. he pulls up next to me sayin "are we gona do this or what" my bottle was empty so i was thinking dam am gettin my *** handed to me. there is traffic in front of us and he down shifts and wants to go then. i tell him to follow me and we turn onto another street and line up for a 30mph roll. we go on the third honk and i start pulling hard. i shut down around 100 with 3-4 cars on him. we then go from a stop and i pull 2 cars before shuting down. we pull over and talk and he claims that it was cutting out in first gear and that he should have had me because he has beaten lots of ta's. the car still had temp plates on it and the driver was in his 60.
but it wasn't a GT-500. i guess ford makes a shelby GT has shelby emblems and looks like the 500 but has the 4.6, suspension, intake, and an exhaust and a shifter they are rated at 320 or 330 from ford.
looks like i am going to have to wait for a gt500.

yeah i been looking to race one of those new shelby GT's, damn there are like 100 different types of stangs out there. With your setup I am surprised you did not get more than just 4 cars on him. still congrats on a nice kill. There is somthing strangely satisfying of beating a car with Temp Plates.

Its basically a retail version of the GT-H rental.
" Following closely (some might say too closely) on the heels of the Shelby GT500 and Shelby GT-H, this latest hot-rod pony is simply dubbed "Shelby GT" and is, for the most part, a retail version of the GT-H rental car offered through select Hertz agencies.

If you read the Car & Driver review of the Shelby GT they just savage the thing. It costs an extra $10k or so over the regular Mustang GT and only adds something like 19HP.
It's a damn shame that Ford just can't go ahead and make a decent Mustang GT. In 2007 an American muscle car should not have less than 350HP in my opinion. Not when sporty midlevel Japanese sedans have 300HP, to say nothing of the next generation Camaro.
But the Shelby GT will sell like hotcakes and suckers will keep buying them and lining up to get beaten by us. There will be some good times ahead. Beating shittalkers never gets old.

Somehow, I don't think the Shelby was made with the intention of being a world-beater out on the street, for a bargain-basement price. That's why it has "Shelby" on it. And from what I hear, in '08 or '09 the Mustang GT is gonna move up to a ~5.3l V8 of a new design, and power is supposed to be close to 400hp. I think Ford doesn't want to be embarassed in the pony-car wars again

That's true. Shelby will put his name on anything for the right price.
And despite my love for the SCB and Camaro, I hope that the Mustang does get a more powerful plant in the near future. I love almost any car that is good at what it does, so a faster Mustang would be cool with me. The current state of the brand is pretty damn sad right now IMO.
I'm just saying that a lot of Shelby GT owners are going to be thinking that the name alone adds 50HP, so they'll be getting brave, which will be fun.

The Vette is aimed at taking sales away from Exotics (it always has been). Nothing close to being in the same class as a Mustang. Chevy does not have anything for the Mustang in 2007.
