gixxer 750 vs. 99 z28
Ok, I didn't know where to put this just wanted some insight on what kind of power and mods I am going to need to beat a 2001 GSX-R 750, my buddy picked one up last fall and I really want to be able to outrun or at least keep within a bike length of him on roll races and dig's once he gets more comfortable at launching the bike hard. I was planning on going cam only with a 150 dry shot of nitrous and a 3400 or 3600 stall, would this be enough to hang or should I plan on getting some heads as well, I wanted to wait on the heads till next season but may try to get them sooner if I can find some way to buy them...anyone need a kidney? how bout the little toe? ha ha j/k, but seriously help a brother out
mods, feel free to move this if it should be in a different section

with a good cam, all bolt-ons, and a 150shot I would say you could take him from around a 75 roll and up. but from a dig I think he will be to much. that is if he can good rider. for a roll race don't look at just his trap speed, ppl always us 1/4 mile times and speed for estimating a roll race. you really need t know how many mph he gain from the 1/8th to the 1/4 to get closes idea of what the outcome will be. if he gains 35 and you only gain 30 then you have a pretty good idea that he will pull you.

Several things.......lots of $$, Gixxer 1000, big stall w/ TREX and nitrous, or go get a Hayabusa with a turbo and nitrous like the one at the local track around here........OMG soooo damn fast.

I edged one out by about a carlength or two, got it on video. I had around 600hp at the time. If he was a better rider he could have probably taken me, but not by much. Your going to need some serious power.

A 750 is a big bike.
In terms of power and top end, its closer to a 900/1000 then a 600.
It will take alot of power to run with one.
Do not mistake a 750 for being, "just a little bigger" then a 600.
They are heavier then a 600 and classified as an expert motorcycle...and for good reason.
I have rode an 02' Ninja 750 (last year of the Kawa 750 Ninja, btw) and it pulled just like my bro's 01 R1.
They have a very impressive top end pull.
A 600 can match them to about 120ish, maybe 130, then its all over.
It can be done, with internal work, and you might need some bottle love as well.
His bolt on LS1 is going to take a 750 Streetbike?
He would have to be the worst driver I have ever heard of.
A 1990 GSXR 750 would murder a cammed, full bolt on LS1.

A 01 should run a bit slower but I would say high 10's, but your buddy sounds like a new rider. Race him now, you might beat him.

Now my 06 1000...that thing will leave his 750 from the git-go and he wont even be able to read my shirt by the time we hit 100mph.

Thanks for all the input, looks like I wont be beating him this summer he is a fairly new rider but does know how to run through the gears, I guess I'll have to start looking into some forced induction or a really big shot before I can run with him. For now I want to keep it NA and reliable maybe a 100-150 shot, I'll still be running him when the weather gets nicer and my headers and cam are installed but I'm sure I'll get slaughtered, oh yeah I'll try to get it on video I know everyone likes to see bikes and cars run

You would kick my *** on my R1 until i got the front tire down. The main thing for a rider is to keep the front down.If he cant do that you'll win everytime. My friend has one like that except a '03 and its quick so be prepaired to get hauled on if he's good.
