Default LS1 Z-28 vs. L98 Vette

I got to play with a late 80's L-98 corvette last night on my way home from Home Depot. This car wasn't stock either, I noticed his taillights as I was going down Middlebrook back torwards Cedar Bluff. I sped up a little and get beside his car, nice car too, and I guess he saw me there so the feller nailed it. It caught me a little off guard so I had to play catch up, I laid mine on the floor and the transmission didn't down shift all the way. He caught me in between third and overdrive when the tranny doesn't want to shift back to first. I managed to real him back in and passed him once my RPM's got back up. I think we hit 90-100 mph with me out about a car and a half. This vette wasn't stock! I can usually pull a L-98 like a madman but this one put up one hell of a fight against my cammed LS1. If we raced from a light it would've been worse but all in all it was fun. Those L-98's got some serious low end torque! It kinda sounded like an LT1 though but it had the TPI emblem on the hood, beats me but I managed to pull ahead.

Stoplights, are where our L98's do better! 350/tq stock. Get the exhaust opened up and your looking at 350+tq at the wheels. Unless he has a superram, miniram, or converted LT1 intake, the TPI usually falls on its face over 4500rpm.
Stock is like HIGH 13's. Lots in the 12s or better lightly modded.
