Default Mbz Amg E55

On my way to work earlier today, I ended up next to an E 55. It was clean as hell and the liscence plate gave me a lil laugh, "M5 KLR". I was behind another car which they passed to get on the 210 on ramp at Hubbard. We play a lil on the ramp then hit traffic.
Dudes were cool both checkin out my car w/ grins. Well we hit the 118 and it's open. We line up coming out of a turn and punch it from about 65. I pull at least 5-6 cars on them by 105 (redline in third). We slow and go again, about the same speed. He jumps, I chase pull through third and pass him by three... then , kinda forget to shift and hit limiter!! Slam it in fourth and pull back even then yank a car and we let off by 120.
Both him and his passenger were all thumbs and grins. I returned the compliments and split off to the 405.
Then hit a wall of dead stopped traffic. What a bumber after a good romp.

With those mods, an E55 would drop you like a bag of dirt.
They've gone 11.8@118mph bone stock, I don't see a 13-second car putting 5-6 cars on one from a 65mph roll up to 105...because they'll get there very quickly.
Possibly, you ran an E320 with a set of 55 badges on it.

Hey all i can say is what happens on the street happens on the street. The dude had a pretty serious set of badges then, because thats what the damned thing said. V8 Kompressor on both sides and AMG E 55 on the back. Silver w/ blacked out head and tail lights, on 22" rims.
I was like wtf when i looked it up too! 576bhp and 615ft.lbs!! w/ only 4100lbs. to lug.
Hey for all i know it was his pops car/ he didn't know how to drive/ It was a re-badged lower model/ **** he could have been playin with me! All i know is thats what the ****** car said and he got beat.

I've driven them , my Dad had an '02 E55 and now has an '06 CL55, There fast but I can hang right with either one up to about 80mph. After that though these cars are like Locomotives and will pull like nothing else from 100mph on. I know, I know 500+ ft lb's 90%availible at 1800 rpm's blah, blah, blah but they just don't move the needle like you think they would. Maybe because they are so heavy? Don't believe everything written by some Euro snob magazine editor that creams in his pants at the sight of blue and white roundel, or 3 pointed star. Not to say these cars aren't fast they are. But the vast majority of drivers don't know how to drive, And the tranny's use "fuzzy logic" which means they aquire the shift points by driver how the driver normally drives, meaning you can hop into Mr. weinstein's CLS 63 and it will shift very soft and low until the wash bay guy gets his hands on it for a little bit.

You should read my sig.
And I don't know about "Mr. Weinstein's" car, but I can say firsthand that a lightly modded LS1 is going to get its *** handed to it, from any speed. There's not much driver skill involved in running an E55 from a 65 mph roll.
And strangely enough, the CLS55's don't seem to be as quick as the E-class cars, despite having the same engine.

if he had the cash to put 22" rims on the car, he prolly would have spent the lil bit to throw fake badges on it too. the E55's are pretty quick and puttin 5-6 car lengths on one doesn't sound to believable. Sorry but I work for them and they haul *** for a heavy 4dr.

Raced one the other day from a 10 roll. I spun through 1st and 2nd. He got me by 1 1/2 before I dropped out at 70 or so. I don't feel bad getting my *** handed to me by an E55 in my stocker. My new turbo is going on next week. I hope to see him around.

True, it may not have been the newer E55...though you did state you saw 'Kompressor' on the side.

Very good point. The '02 and earlier cars weren't supercharged.

Yea..I find it hard to beleave a lightly modded LS1 could hang with or pull a E55 AMG under any circumstances...

Stock for stock a gen 2 Viper is a lil faster than an E55 AMG..

But you gotta drive GOOD in the viper vs the guy in the AMG just hitting the gas pedal and letting the auto do the work...

My stock 99 Viper and GUS//'s E55AMG Have had some very close runs..

I beleave he dynoed 413 rwhp bone stock

Did you happen to be out last Sunday and run a black early 90s Talon?
