Default All TIED UP

I raced my buddy yesterday in his procharged mustang gt. He just had the procharger put on 2 weeks ago. He got a 10 pound procharger 4.30 gears upgraded clutch and flywheel. aluminum driveshaft bf drag radials, he already had headers off road x-pipe catback exhaust throttlebody, but he got everything dyno tuned.

I have a 02 CETA ws6 with free mods, lid, filter Loudmouth catback, 411 gears and a mcloud clutch on goodyears.

I beat him the first race by about a car and a half.
The second race he got me but i kinda spun alot in 1,2 gear i spun alot and he jumped me by a car. By the time we hit about 100 i was at his bac tire.

He's got too much gear. But nice kill anyways. Pass on the heads up to him. He should drop down to 3.73s or 4.10s.

Yeah, I'd be happy if I was handed a race like that too. Either something's up with your buddy's car, or he needs driving lessons. 10lb P1SC or D1SC with the supporting mods he has is a 400rwhp car. If anything, those gears might be hurting him. I'd stick to 3.55s with a blower. But hey, a win's a win

His dyno sheet says 472 hp to the wheels

There's a supercharged mustang GT in my town that was leaving town one day and I went to pass him and he tried to stop me from passing and I just went right by him lol.

LOL so you beat a 472rwhp car? Also tell me how he made that much power on a SOHC with 10psi pulley.

And he dynoed 472rwhp with 4.30 gears. WOW....

Thats what his peak horsepower was on the dyno sheet they gave him. He might of had 12 pounds of boast. but i believe it was 10. also they told him to bring it back i 3 weeks and the will tune it up to 520 to the wheels. does this not sound right. Do you think they are full of ****. because this is my cousin and were in the same car club. and i would like to see his car run really good.
What do you guys think.

He can drive pretty good he ran a 13.7 with his only mods a header, exhaust, intake, Throttle body and predator tuner on strret tires.

His car is not making 472rwhp with 4.30 gears in a SOHC GT with only other mods being bolt ons. No way, no how!

Sounds to me with the race its more like 372rwhp

way to much power for a stock gt. after 400 horse your gambling its not if its gonna blow up its when. regardless with his mods on 8 lbs of boost he should have blew your doors clean off. his cars makin a good amount of power more than yours and hes lighter. on a side note tell him to ditch the 4:30's and get 3:73's.

Yeah
I rode in his car and it didnt feel like a 472 whp car. I told him there is know way he caoul put down that much whp with no head or bottom end work being done.
but the place that did the work is a really well known place the always in the mustang magazines. But the hell if i know. And they promised when he brought ti back they would give him over 500 whp. They just wanted him to break everything in now so they gave him his dyno sheet with 472 on it

thats not exactly a great time for those mods. basicly a full bolt on gt with a tune should do a lot better than a 13.7. with some tires and gears that should be a low low 13 or high 12 set up if he can drive.

Yep. And yeah, anytime you get over 400rwhp on a stock GT, you're holding your breath. Now, an '05+ GT can hit in the 450-475rwhp range on stock internals.

Nothing in this thread has made sense yet...Are you sure this is true? I don't see any "well known" Mustang shop promising any SOHC GT with untouched motor from intake down promising they will get the car over 500rwhp with tune. And they told him to bring it back when everything was broken in? When what was broken in!? The headers? Sounds to me like this thread shoulda been started with "Once upon a time..."
