Of course! You can never have too much power.
R6s till about 120-140 are stupidly fast... and will destroy you.. after that speed they literally fall flat on their face. You will pass the R6 at high speed. Just do an 80 roll with the spray and you may get lucky.

Here are some R6 accel figures I grabbed. This was for an 06 model with a pro rider so expect an 02 with an average rider to be a little slower. Bottom line, you need a 125-130 mph car to run with one from a slow roll with a decent rider. Above 120-ish, the acceleration on some of these 600s ramps off quite bit.
Acceleration
Speed Time Distance(meters)
00010 0.66 1.365
00020 1.18 4.853
00030 1.73 10.953

I actually raced an R6 the other night. IHe kept playing with me so i figured what the heck. IM not sure what year it was, but it looked fairly new. I don't even know what speed we were at. We were right along side each other and i dropped it down to 3rd running about 3500 rpm's, i jumped slightly on him and put him at my rear quarter panel. I pulled the rest of the way through 3rd and red lined it. As soon as i red lined it, we had to stop cause traffic was coming up fast, but when i let off he was right along side my passenger door and it looked like he was beginning to pull me, but we let off before he passed me.

I say get the 150 shot. Ive ran a 07 R6 in my FRC, first run I spun a bit and he got out on me about 3-4 cars. I managed to reel him in but it took some time. Second race I hooked and pulled him pretty good, put 4+ cars on him before shutting down. It may not be a newer R6, but it will still be pretty fast.

Man are you going to waste your gas.... You don't have a chance bro. You might get him up to about 30 cause a lot of guys don't know how to launch their bikes.... But before my 03 GSXR got stolen, I would have left you right from the get go unless you had slicks on the car. And then procedeed to put bus lengths on you. My bike ran high 10s w/ an exhaust only.

With your mods you will probably not catch up even at 130+ unless he doesn't know how lean forward, tuck up under the windshield, and wind that B#tch out to 14K each gear. I did a WOT pull to 130 mph ONCE (still breakin it in) and I was shifting at 10-11K and it was pullin pretty damn hard on the upper end. I can only imagine after the full break-in when I can shift at 14k, how much that thing will pull!
You need approximately 500rwhp to keep up with a 600 cc sportbike (if the rider know's what he's doin). I am not even goin to address how much you need for a litre class bike. *cough* cough* TT LS1* cough* 800+ rwhp *cough*
Damn allergies

I ride a 04 750 GSXR sometimes and raced my roommate with a 00 LS1 full boltons. From around 70-80ish I kept it in 6th gear and he pulled a couple cars slowly until I got in my powerband and then walked him. I had no problem hitting 160 on that bike with ease

Yall are all puttin the r6 on a freakin' pedistal like its super fast. The new ones are a lil faster sure, but he is talkin about a 02.... I have ran one before on my cam only setup ~380-390 rwhp.. We went from like 65 or so and up to about 120 he was only about a full car length infront of me.. i did get the jump on him though.. Sometimes you beat the rider racing bikes, alot of people dont know how to take a bike to its best. A 600 really isnt really super fast, from lower roll to 115 sure its fast, Do a 65 roll or so get the jump and you just might be suprised.

A 600 really isn't that fast? Sure you didn't race a GS600 or something? A properly riden sport 600 (ZX600, R6,CBR600RR, GSX600)made after 2000 is enough to take out an LS1 with less then ~500 rwhp.
It cracks me up when someone races some squid on a sportbike and 'hangs' with him and thinks to himself "There not as fast as everyone says" and thinks their car is the ****. An 02 R6 would do 160 fairly easy and get there helluva lot faster than a bolt-on or cammed LS1.

From a high punch, and i mean high like 100 or so a h/c f-bod should get the win. A 600 will assrape a h/c ls1 at any speed below 110-120 but not after that even with a good rider, h/c f-bods have been known to do 180+ with ease.
