So my friends and I are leaving Applebees and pull u to a red light, well light turns green and I hear tires peeling out, I look aroud and noticed it no one i'm with. Well my friend that was first at the red in a different lane stops short of the next red light and motions me to get infront so I do only to find out a Charger was in the middle lane. I ask my other friend (driving a '00 GT) if it was him peeling out before and he says "Yeah, go get him". I pull up next to the Charger and didn't notice the badge or the 20"s at all so I do the 'you wanna race hand motion?' and he nods yes then rollsis window down and sayd he can't hook on the streets, I reply, "nither can I". Light trns green and we both left easy and gunned it at 5mph, i'm thinking i'm gonna murder this guy but as he starts walking me I noticed the SRT8 badge and then the sound of a not stock 6.1 hemi, lol.

My other friend in his '93 RX7 pulled up to him at the next light and they ran and the SRT8 beat him too but then he asked if we wanted to go on the interstate, the RX7 accepted and so they raced on I-10 where the RX7 won twice by a car both times.

Later when I'm driving home I see the car at a gas station so I make a U turn and went and talked to the guy for about 25 minutes. He has full exhaust, chip and tuned. He was really cool about everything and got a good laugh when I told him I thought I was gonna beat the **** out of him, lol.

Best thing about it is that one of my friends with us tonight works for Dodge and was sent to Tampa, FL about 6 months ago to drive a SRT8 Charger back, well all of us were talking about everything and relized it was the same Charger, LOL.

I straight 187ed a brand new hemi charger with int, exh, headers and tune. I am wanting to run a SRT8 to see the difference.

Nice death. They can be very impressive with the CAI and tune. The tune makes all the difference with the auto shifting at 6700. With those mods, they are low/mid 12 sec cars with traction. I love my mine.

you're not selling your 300c for a z06 are ya? I'm tempted to sell my turbo ls1 for a srt-8. I almost bought one, rofl. But settled on the '08 nitro r/t since i had the car already, rofl.

Honestly...I don't think so...but then again...who knows...I've never actualyl encountered one with anything more that just bolt ons.....and they are so damn heavey.....I don't see them being fast at all.....

my buddy is a mopar guy we have a debate if a stock ls1 could beat a srt8 i just cant find one to race i thought it would be close but the ls1 would take it top end now i dont know after reading this

No way! I love the SRT8. Its for my wife and I will add the Z06 when I can. I highly reccomend the SRT8 300/Charger. Very fun cars and very quick. 108-110mph traps stock in a 4200lb car.

Actually the topend I would lean SRT8 (170-175mph stock) . I can run anyone locally if you want.

Stock for stock it's a drivers race,i'd put my money on the srt8. They have really good traps.

Yea stock for stock i also put my money on the srt8. It will be a drivers race.
Those Srt8's can be nasty. I've ran a few and beat them pretty easy but i have alot of respect for them

I've got true duels at my friends shop, i'm just waiting for headers to install them.

Thanks. He has a steetport 13b, BNR stage 2 twin turbos, 1200cc injectors, full exhaust, large stock mount innercooler, Takico(sp?) full suspension, B&M short shifter, power FC and a few other mods, but hes not tuned yet. He use to put 1-2 cars on me before the bigger injectors.

I've beat stock SRT8 Chargers before, not by alot but I did win.

Also, I race alot of people and I lose alot too becaue most of the people I race are modified because I kill 85% of other stock cars on the road in my area. Also, I like the challange and pleasure of beating highly modded cars or atleast only losing by a car, lol

there really nice cars, but i'm starting to see too many of them, everywhere i go, plus my 2 neighbors who both have srt's.

In my opinion a Charger/300 SRT-8 would be slightly faster on top end than every LS1(GTO, F-bod) except a well driven 6spd Corvette on top end. The Jeep SRT-8 is very quick off the line but an LS1 F-bod/GTO would pull one of those on top end.

I'm not too sure about the Magnum SRT-8 because it's heavier than the Charger/300 but it's stronger on top end than the Jeep.

I've pulled a stock SRT8 Charger up to 145mph before he said he was locked on me but I took him off the line so I still beat him. lol
