V6 Camaro vs V6 Mustang
One of my best friends just bought a 99 Mustang (V6) and challenged my 94 Camaro (3.4L V6 ) to a race. I was all for that. I thought it would be pretty interesting. So 2 nights ago, We lined up.. Light turns green and were off. His car launched way better than mine did. From the begining, He had a car on me since I spun off the line. His is also a auto, and mines a 5 speed. He slowly creeped away from me after that.
He had about 3 lengths on me when we finally shut down. Both of our cars are pretty much stock.. Mines got a magnaflow cat-back exhaust system and hes got a cold air intake. Nothing major. Just fun little daily drivers.
I should also mention, but not using it as an excuse, I got a little problem with my car.. Shortly before my head gaskets went, My car had a hard time accelerating past 4500rpm's (o2 sensor??) and it just doesnt want to go any further. So during the race, I had to shift at around 4500rpm's. The clip was broken during the engine rebuild and I think thats why my car isnt performing to its full potential. I still think he would have beaten me even if my car was performing to its max, but.. I dont think by as much though.
I'll get some videos next time.. It was just a friendly little race.. No suprises since I thought he would take me anyways.
He plans on getting a 03-04 Cobra later on and i'm planning on getting a 98-02 Trans Am eventually. So I told him to just wait for my T/A ..

Yeah, They're fun daily drivers.. I'm not trying to make it out to be anything that its not (a race car... lol) but its a pretty nice car though..
I beat my brothers 96 Mustang (V6) when my car was running good. Not by much, But I had about 2 lengths on him before we shut down. I launched better than he did and pulled him instantly for about a car, Then slowly crept away for the rest.

Stock for stock he would definately take me.. But mine wouldnt be stock for long though .
Its going to be awhile before I get my T/A though, and he gets his Cobra.. So right now, Its just the battle of my V6 Camaro and his V6 Mustang..

LMAO!! I was about to do that.. Jokingly I told him "If you beat me, I'm spraying it.." I dont think its gonna happen though..
Also.. I'm picking up my O2 sensor in a little bit, and i'm hoping this will fix my problem so we can have some better results this weekend ..
