stock z28 vs stock STI (first race in new car)
i just got this Z28.. its stock down to the paper filter.. it does have a cat back magnaflow.. thats it
'00 six speed.. previous owner said it put down 324rwhp and after tonight i believe it. .. anyway
I ran into an old friend that got a new STI.. he agreed to give me a run.. we both agreed i'd get pulled from a stop so we went from a roll.. 40 .. 60.. can't remember..
first run:
lined up.. and immediately pulled and kept going.. i'm not sure exactly how much .. my buddy riding shotgun said it was a good 2 lengths.. i was expecting a beating.. just happy to see i didn't get a slouch
second run:
i jumped the gun.. so doesn't count.

i did race a real car.. JRuss ran me in his SS.. so i could see what the car can do w/ 370rwhp.. and on the highway he put a good length n' half on me.. while shooting flames! haha.. his vert SS weighing alot more .. so i know from a stop i'd get owned.
i went for a ride in it.. and w/ the drag radials on.. that thing launchs hard

yea the s2k was a fun car.. straight line was just too ridiculous to make it faster.. 2k for headers, 1k for exhuast.. 5k for a Supercharger or 6k for a turbo.. then add tuning and getting a rear end that can handle the power into that and u could of bought another car. it is amazing in the corners though.. i always described it as a high powered go kart
i was in shock after seen how cheap the mods are for a LS1.

By far the best tires I have ever use. Provide better traction in the rain then my old F1's did on dry pavement.

Re: stock z28 vs stock STI (first race in new car)
Can't wait til I get a chance to race a new STI. I just had a long talk with a one of my close girl friend's brothers about import vs domestic. He was actually cool. We argued for a long time, he mentioned how much of a disgrace most kids with imports are on the road today. Riced out hondas, toyotas, etc. Hes a big Nissan fan, talks a lot about the Sr20det. When I brought up the STi and Evo, he said they're just here with too much hype from overseas to please the American public. Real smart kid, he impressed me quite a bit. He made the mistake of agreeing to run me in the quarter once he gets his car (2 years). Ha... what a mistake.
By then, I'll have a 15# pulley, my heads (finally), and a brand new 12bolt with 3.73s. Hello 10s.... goodbye import.
