Default 01 Trans-Am WS6 M6 vs. New Mustang GT 5 spd.

Well today I was daydreaming in class and this is what I imagined happened:

I was with my girlfriend comming back from somewhere, stopped at a light. Light turns green and I turn onto the highway, noone is around so I get on it a little. I look in my mirror to see the light changing green for the other traffic to continue down the highway (Yes I know, weird highway, there is 2 lanes each way and an intersection in between with a light) Well I love in my mirror and see a dark colored car with white stripes leaving the light. I say to my girlfriend "Oh **** look!" It was a new dark blue Mustang GT with white racing stripes. I slow down to 45-50 and get into the right lane waiting for him to catch up, at first I thought he wasen't going to play because he just got into the right lane behind me. He then speeds up, changes lanes and gets next to me...just what I was waiting for. It coulden't be more of a perfect setting, wide open road, noone in front, no traffic around, long straight away. I was crusing in 5th waiting to see if he would play, once he is next to me I put it in 4th, I hear him downshift so I drop it to 3rd. He just got on it, I immediatley hit it and catch him no problem, continue to pass him easily and put on about 3 1/2 lengths before I let off at about 125-130MPH since my girlfriend was with me, the t-tops and windows were open, and clothes were about to start flying out of the car since the air from the tops being open was moving them around. I then slow down and let him catch up, as he gets next to me I give him a thumbs up and he yells over "NICE CAR" then speeds up and gets off his exit which was the next one. Nice guy, nice car, good race

Nice kill, but in my imaginary dream, the clothes that would have been flying out the t-tops would have been the ones on my girlfriend.

Like IRUNELEVENS said, the only real chance a new GT has against an LS1 is from a dig. Nice kill

Thanks again guys!

So if I ever come across one from a dig, doesn't the LS1 still usually take the cake? The GT will probably pull from the start, but won't the LS1 with its ungodly top end catch and reel in that poor GT?

Yes. Unless you can't drive for **** you will take the cake. It takes a pretty good launch and close to perfect shifting for a dig to even be "close".

Of course the mustang gal/guy forgot to mention that little catch.

I wouldn't go that far... people have gotten low-mid 13s with some of the new GTs, it's just a matter of finding the right car/driver. But 4 times out of 5, the LS1 will win.

More like 5 out of 5 times. Unless there's something very wrong with the LS1 or the driver. LS1 is for sure much faster everytime otherwise.

I've ran with countless 05+GTs auto and M5 even with exhaust/intake when my car was BONE STOCK M6 from all kinda of rolls and many, many digs and pulled several lenghts each time. This is yet another classic example.

All we pointed out was the only real chance a S197 GT stands is from a dig...never said anything about the skill of driver.

Should have said something about the driver. Only way they'd have a chance is with an excellent driver from a dig. Even so, good luck in the stang.

Uh...he didn't have to search. That's his vid of his car unless I'm confusing this vid for another guy.
