Default 1990 Iroc-z vs 2006 Mustang GT

Been really wanting to get some wheel time in my Iroc-z as of late .gas prices has had me out of my fast cars for a min.I took it out for nice cruise just rolling around not really going anywhere just driving . Low traffic . I get to a light and what happens to pull up beside me but a 2006 Mustang gt( Blue) (now i like these cars ) so i say to the nice car .hes reply is a nasty look and a rev ??? now im a calm very nice person . im also a complete country born Camaro driven sob.im now stageing on my 3400 tci stall.(note my irocz always has bfg drag radials on ) light turn green he dumps it tons of spin im on my throttle about a 3rd of the way down just pacing him.side by side hes going for second so i drop the hammer . more wheel spin the i was hoping for but looked very mean white smokeing drag radials at 35 mph hooked and jumped a car then and keep on pulling till 65(it really seemed like i hammered it for a sec then let off) didnt want run any faster then that on the street even with no traffic.as im slowing down he does a flyby and then jumps on the brakes for the next light witch is red .i go by him his window is now up and i turn and went home .is it just new mustang owners that think gen 1 small blocks cant be modded or what lol.

NOTE im not s street racing fan but sometimes the stop light to stop light is just to much fun (given theres no traffic )

Very nice. Sounds like you have a kick *** 3rd gen. (my bro had two).

Yeah, like anything 'new' alot of people come out of hte wood work to have the 'latest and baddest thing' and don't truly have car/performance knowledge. So when alot of people jump on the band wagon it gives the cars a bad name. I do agree though, in my area there are alot of these 'types' that own S197s. Of course, I've run into 4th gen owners that think 03/04 cobra's and Foxes are the only stangs to watch out for.

Oh and +1 on the street scene. I never did it often but once in a while you have an inkling.

I had an 86' black Iroc-z w/ the 305 tpi. Everyone that got into that car at the time jaw dropped! Even some of my buddies that had 70 chevelle ss 396's. The handling of the car overwhelmed them.

Good run man.

I have owned 2 Irocs in the past, both 5.0's and you never see them anymore, damn shame.

I would love to have a nice 11 sec mint Iroc.

Gotta love a good 3rd Gen Kill! Haven't driven mine in a while but I guess I better now. I haven't raced a new design Stang(05+)yet in my Roc but I did beat a 04 GT. Not too bad for a 23 year old car with a lowly LB9! LoL Good kill man post pics of the ROC!!!

How much of a difference does that elevation make?

This equation works pretty good for NA engines. Boosted engines suffer a little less but not much.

bhp loss = elevation in feet / 1000 x 0.03
x bhp at sea level

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but at that alt. I believe he would lose roughly/almost a second over sea level.
