Default Rear wheels make clicking noise?

I am getting a wawawawawawa sort noise that gets louder as I go faster and doesnt change when I push in the clutch and coast.

So I jacked up my car this weekend and when I grab the rear wheels and push from the top and pull from the bottom I can move them a very very small distance. They also make a clicking noise when I do this. This happens for both rear wheels but not the front wheels.

Is this normal?

I thought it was my wheel bearings but isnt it pretty unlikely that both would go bad at the same time? What else could it be?

Note: it is best to jack up car from diff. then put jack stands under rear end. That way you can see if the wheels are hitting or if the rear springs are not set right.

Weird are you saying it only makes the noise when the rear is in? Also check for rear end leaks. Seal leaks are scary ****. rear end locks and you slide and skid out of control. <--trust me

I will try doing this, before I had jackstands under the SFCs.

What do you mean 'rear is in'?

Also, I had the rear wheels balanced and they were fine.

Oh sorry type-o I mean when the clutch is in. Soulds trans related? as rear end should make a noise all the time.

Also do you have Drive shaft loop, X-member, TQ mount.? Or after market TQ arm. And is it lowered?

I have seen SOOO many times when the rear is lifted and the rear hanges (rear end moves side to side Max) the springs move out of the right spot. Unless you have house mod.

The noise happens all of the time, clutch in or out. I am not lowered, I have a UMI adjustable panhard bar in the rear, no other mods back there.

So, should I hear the clicking noise when I grab the wheels, is there any amount of slop that is normal?

Are you sure the wheels don't hit anything (phb not adjusted right).
Then I would check for oil leaks.
Does it get louder the Faster you go (driveshaft or moving part)
As far as slop. If you mean axles and drive shaft yes but very little and shouldn't be a problem.

I would look into brakes and the wheels also. As getto as it sounds we have put a car on the lift and ran it in drive with no wheels and had guys under it searching.

Most of the time brakes/e-brake or wheels. but also seen driveshaft issues.

I was costing down a hill at about 80 today and when i was turning right the noise would get louder. When I was going straight it was not as loud and when I turned left it seemed to disappear. Does this provide any clues?

I will get it up on jackstands this weekend I hope and look at things.

From what you just said sounds like you are in need of a adjustable PHB. But again if it is coming from the wheels you should see it by jacking the car up by the diff. or even removing the wheels and looking for rub marks.
