Default Wheel-hop

Alright, well just alittle concerned about this now, because i just did a line-lock a few days ago, and right before that i did sub-frames lower control arms and adj. pan-hard bar, and when i did a check on the line lock(Burn-out) i had alot of wheel hop before the tires actually really started to burn then it was ok, but it was maybe afew seconds of hoppidy hop hop. Im concerned because when i go too the track i will be running MT et streets and ill have my SS 4000 installed by then and im afraid of how bad the wheel hop will be. What else do i need to do, or is this something that is just going to happen? Thanx fellas

Default about the wheel hoop!

Hello,

I have a few questions?

Are the LCA's you have adjustable?

Do you have a aftermarket rear in the car?

If they are not adjustable lowers I would recommend LCA relocation Brackets?

Leave me know and we will be able to find a solution from there.

Thanks Again!

Smile wheel hoop problem!

Hello,

Well the ALC's will just be set a factory length. But here are a few more options.
A very inexpensive mod is to get a set of Relocation Brackets for the lower control arms first, and a Adjustable torque arm. Is the car lowered? If it is I would recommend using a stock spring and maybe go with a softer spring to transfer weight better.

Thanks Again!

Hello, no your going to need a set of control arm relocation brackets to stop the wheel hop. The allow you to lower the rear of the control arm which changes the geometry of your suspension and moves your instant center rearward allowing for better weight transfer also. We offer two version, a bolt in version for your factory rearend or a weld in version that will work on factory or aftermarket rears. If you have any questions please give me a call.

Wow,so its a battle of the sponsors. So basically, adj. lower control arms from what you all are saying, are pointless without the relocation brackets. Oh, and no the car is not lowered, nor do i have any plans too lower it. i have done the hose mod though, that was a while back, so the rear is infact lowered just a hair. Would that have an effect?

The main purpose of an adjustable control arm is to be able to move your wheelbase forward or backward. The relocation brackets will stop the wheelhop. If you lower the vehicle you need the brackets to correct the control arm geometry but they also are needed on non lowered vehicles that experience wheelhop.

Hey Gyrene,
the relocation brackets will help, most of the time if you use the bottom hole
on the brackets it will move the tires forword in the wheel well , then you can recenter it w/ the adj. LCA's Also if your stock ride hight a good shock will fix your
wheel hop

Our brackets if installed correctly will not move the wheelbase. The holes are drilled on an arc so the wheelbase will not change.

Yes they work great but are designed for the stock rear. If you have any questions please give me a call.
