Stupid Question # 42...:)
I am working on some Suspension Mods in the rear on My 2000 Camaro SS.
Took off the springs and shocks. Finished my upgrades.
Then I made a mistake...........I read the Chevy Shop Manual!!!!!!
I am quoting form page 3-56 of Volume 1.
"IMPORTANT: The lower part of the rear spring should be facing forward."
I have tried to interpret what they mean by lower?
1. The Cut end?
2. The last 180 degrees?
3. The last 360 degrees?
Any body have any idea??
I dont see how it makes any difference, since the lower shock mount is flat and seems to sit level on the rear housing??
Thanks
And have fun!!!

It's actually a very good question. And attention to this kind of detail seperates quality work from just Okay work.
A lot folks complain about one side sitting higher than the other. Many times, it's because the springs aren't "indexed".
I don't think it's as important to have the tail facing forward as much as it is having both springs tail face the same direction.
Also, on the other end, make sure the cup is properly seated. There is an indention that fits the end of the upper coil of the spring. This too can cause the rear of the car to sit uneven. I zip-tie the rubber seat to the spring so that it doesn't move when installing it.
