Default Car has been handling weird

Hey guys,

A few months ago I had sold my QA1's due to a problem, and bought KYB AGX adjustables and Eibach pro Kit spinrgs. Since then, a month ago or so I had made my front shocks tighter because I had been having some play in the front end.

The front would make some clunking noises upon hitting the brakes hard or pulling into my driveway. Also if I were to cut the wheel all the way, as if I were turning around, the car would "skip" across the ground rather than roll slowly like I would expect it should. From those few months of the KYB's breaking in, the steering wheel became more loose as well. It used to be really stiff and very responsive, now it's more loose. Since I have tightened the shocks up, it's occurring again. Are the shocks being worn by the springs? Is this normal or what? I'm afraid something's going to break or somethin' lol.

Thank you everyone

Not sure, the car has 80,000+ My mechanic told me he checked it out and the alignment and tie rods were fine.

I would check the ball joints along with you upper shock mounts. Mine was doing that a little, not as bad as yours and i had a bad upper ball joint and both of my shock mounts were bad.

I'm wondering that myself.. What should we look for? Unless I just bring it to a mechanic again. Can any severe damage come of this? Like, if I keep driving on them (I don't really have the money for repairs right now) I won't break anything will I?

to check your ball joints raise the car up and put jackstands under the lower control arms and let the car down so all the weight is on the jackstand.get a long prybar and a buddy and have your buddy put the prybar under the tire and lift up on it.while hes doing that watch the ball joint for movement, there should be no up and down movement in the ball joints at all.

Or just see if the boots are ripped or damaged. GM put sealed joints in with no grease zerks for regular maintance. Oh, and if you take everything apart they should be pretty tough to move around by hand. If they are easy or anything like that, they are worn and probably should be replaced.

The upper mounts are riveted in, kind of a PITA to change. Not sure about the lower joints, as i have never had to change them.
