Default Best Tourqe arm

OK, so, i have an adj. pan-hard bar already, Adj. LCAs and sub frames. gonna be doin H/C within a month. Have an SS4000 stall already, motive 3.90s and bolt-ons. I am trying to make a mid-11s car. the car is a convertable. just wondering which TA to go with. I have a stock tranny, so do i get a tunnel mounted one or a tranny mounted one? Also is the DS safety loop just neccessary for crazy fast cars that are competing in NHRA classes? i will more than likely be getting a 12 bolt next year. I was looking hard at the UMI pieces, always liked UMI.

I have UMI Pieces and there great! You can't go wrong using there stuff or anybody elses.

What you will get is alot of answers based off of opinion. You never really hear bad things about suspension parts/companys so go with whoever can get you what you need the fastest.

ok, well i guess the question is not, who to buy from, but which TA to get. UMI carries alot of different ones. I wont be doing any bracket racing except maybe a super chevy show once in awhile. Just dont know if i need a tunnel mounted TA or a Tranny mounted one? DS loop or no?

No drag racing? I would probably stick with the tranny mounted Adj one... it should save you the hassle of road noise and other reported issues associated with the tunnel mounted units.

I would rather have a body mount than a trans mount. I don't like to put the extra stress on the trans. Body mounts will make more noise and vibration.

Stupid question? Where is the noise coming from?

I am in the process of installing a UMI Torque Arm, Tunnel Mount with DS Loop.

The connection at the front is via Bushings, how do we get noise across that?

if it's a DD then get the full length TA and get the crossmember to take the stress off
the trans! tunnel mount is very noisy on the street!!!

Hello,

Thanks for the interest in our products and I will be glad to help.

Based on what you listed either the transmission mounted to tunnel mounted torque arm will work just fine. If you think in the future you will be making a bunch more power I would go with the tunnel mounted set-up now... if you think you are content with where it is now I would save the few dollars and go with the transmission mounted style.

In all honesty you can't go wrong with either set-up.

Let me know if I can help anymore. Thank you!

Ryan

Well,i do expect the stock tranny to go poop on me so ill probably be going with the tunnel mount. I saw a UMI TA in person once on my buddies Firehawk and it was pretty, though ill be going with gloss black instead of the standard Red. As for making more power later, this will never end, and im putting H/C on the car at the same time.

What a relocation bracket does is gets the torque arm off the back of the transmission and relocates to were the transmission cross member is to eliminate future damage. below is a link that show what I am explaining.

If you have any other questions feel free to contact me and I will be glad to help.
Thanks Again
