Default Brake bleeding a 99 trans am with TCS

Search doesn't seem to be working now, I tried.
Anyway, I have a 99 trans am with 4 channel ABS/TCS. I need to bleed my brakes. In they haynes manual it says this can not be done without the use of a GM tech2 programmer.

Is this correct? Why could they not be bled in the normal way?

Thanks

Default

You can bleed the brakes, but you technically cannot bleed the ABS. All that means is you'll have a little bit of dirty fluid, not a big deal. Just make sure the reservoir stays FULL and you do not get air in the ABS, and you'll be fine.
