Default worn out shocks

if they are beginning to squeak does that mean they need to be replaced ? they have 130k miles on them. car is lowered for probably half of those if that matters. if so should i get some good aftermarket ones for occasional track use?

What size rims. I got the eibach pro kit springs on mine and i got kyb gas adjust but mine is just a weekend driver if i were you i would go with kyb agx. You can get those for around 300. Now there is alot my costly shocks like koni which are around 380 for 2.

Thats cool. Yea i heard if you stay in the 16 17 range on rims you will still have a good ride. I have been debating on if i should have bought the sportline kit. Or is it to low and the pro kit is a better option but i like the stance of your car. Did you measier to see how much of a drop you had.

yes time for new ones the damper fluid has leaked out probably through worn seals you can get after market shocks for a good price and who wants to listen to squeaking makes your car look bad as well.

Any shock is damn near dead after 50-60k esspecially if lowered or driven hard. Are you sure it is shocks squeaking? I just lubed my sway bar, panhard, and LCAs and got rid of my squeaks.

My stock DeCrappy's were dead at 60k before it was even a lowered car. Madhatter makes a good point there is a lot of things the squeaking can be. Use Marine grease as it is more water resistant and lasts longer.

As long as you know that you won't really ever be able to dampen those springs that well and realize you have almost no suspension travel. Those springrates are too low for the ride height. Some people don't mind it, some people do. KYBs will provide enough damping to control the spring, but I never heard a case where the compression/rebound setting could be set perfectly, since one **** changes both. While they can control springs, I believe you'll end up with more compression than you want.

I'm pretty sure most of the non-adjustable aftermarket shocks won't dampen those springs very well. Would only be a little better than swapping with new stock shocks, and for some people that's good enough.

no i dont know for sure thats what the squeak is, but every time there is a slight bump on incline in the road it makes the noise. ive owned the car since 85k miles. it now has 130k and ive never changed them. the previous owner put the springs on it and he owned it from 60-85k so i doubt he ever did so im assuming thats what it is.

So what you guys are saying is i should ditch the sportlines and get new springs / shocks since any aftermarket ones wont be too much better than stock with my current springs ?

You can do what you want. If you want to know what I would do personally, I would absolutely get rid of the sportlines and put a better design of spring in there. Some people who own sportlines love them, but I think most of those people have low expectations for what the car can actually do and have never felt something like a strano/koni setup.
