Default Another C5 brake upgrade

Took about an hour and half. Did the correct bedding for hawk pads. Man do the brakes grab good ....

Got the brackets and rotors from 6liter. Added HPS pads and now its fun time.

Collecting the parts to do this myself, only I'm looking at using a C6 front caliper.

Did you use the C5 caliper brackets?

Edit: nevermind i see it looks like you used all camaro stuff. Those are also camaro pads i'm assuming?

C5's have the same calipers as F-bodies in regards to bolting it in. I've heard the casting material/process is different on the C5 calipers though (stronger). You can re-use your F-body calipers when doing a C5 brake conversion, or you can upgrade to the stronger C5 calipers if you are going to be abusing your brakes and want a little more time before the calipers warp/fail. I could be wrong about the stronger part though. They could be lighter and stronger, or lighter and weaker. I do know the only difference is in the material/casting.

C5 Caliper = C6 Caliper with different script, unless your talking Z06 calipers

From the pics I've seen, the C6 calipers look a little beefier than the C5 calipers - the C5 calipers have the full-width stiffening ribs, and the C6 looks like the entire thing is thicker.

Might not make much of a difference, but who knows...

Found a great price on front/rear calipers off of a wrecked 2004 Comm. Edition Z06.

Parts that should be here this week:

Front/rear cross drilled and slotted rotors
Front/rear C5 Z06 calipers
Front/rear pads

I'll track down the adapter brackets this week.
