Default Rear Bump Stops

Okay, so I made a n00b mistake and ordered the SLP Jounce Bumper SPACERS...Not realizing I need the OEM bushing to fit inside of it. Now I see lots of people have just used Autozone poly universal bump stops and such. However these won't work with the SLP jounce bunp stop spacers. I was looking around on google and found these links

http://www.energysuspensionparts.com...sp?prod=9.9137

Now that's $17.99 per, for these bump stops. Hawks has these:

http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/ca...opnewgm-1.aspx

They look amazingly similar. Is it just me or are they the same pretty much? If that's the case, that's $83.00 saved about (not including the SLP jounce spacers if you purchased it seperate)

Hmmm any insight guys?

P.S.- I did do a search and found some links, just curious about the info and if ordering the poly ones are okay for DD'ing the car. Im not going to auto X it, just car bottoms out hard, and I want to know if the poly ones in the link are compatable with the slp jounce spacers

Just order the Bump stops in the top link(that's the on to use), and either trim the front side of the bump stop so it fits around the lip that sticks down in front of the bump stop, or do what I did and cut the lip off. If you don't want to do that then cut/grind off the piece on the SLP B.S. spacer that serves the same function as the lip referenced above.

First, what makes you think you need the SLP spacer? Many (including myself) remove the spacer for more suspension travel, and have no rubbing issues.
Next, have you looked at your bumps stops, and are they worn down/chewed up? If not, your issue may also be the shocks just not dampening the car properly and giving that jittery/jarring ride.

Yeah I looked at my bump stops which are near non existent. I just ordered some 3rd gen ones for my car. I also have 315's on ZR1's and I heard that the spacers help with the tire being chewed up

Energy units in Red or Balck. While you at it polish the aluminum spacer. I have them on mine and the look good and more than get the job done.

They aren't bushings... Take a look behind your rear wheel. You should see them attached to the body of the car, above the axle. That is, unless yours have disintegrated and fallen off (like my current set are about to do).

Is the spacer really needed if you have larger wheels? I actually just ordered the stops a few days ago.

If you trim the front of the bumpstop in the area where the lip sticks down in front of the B.S., the you don't need the spacer.
Or if you just cut off the lip, the there's no need to trim the bumpstop, just bolt it up with no spacer.

Lip has been removed in this photo.

Default 1994 Chevy Camaro Rear Suspension Bump Stops Replacement

I highly recommend V6 FixIt.com if you're looking to replace bump stops on your older Camaro. GM no longer makes them and as you have seen in others posts modification is necessary to make Universal (Energy Suspension 9-9137R) Bump Stops work. I had no interest in re-drilling holes to fit the offset nor did I want to cut the lip off my vehicle. This company from Texas cut an aluminum spacer that solves the problem at a reasonable price. $45. for the pair.

I could be wrong but arent the bumpstops from a jeep the same size as they use in our cars? I could of sworn i read that they are just as good as the ones that came in 3rd gens and better than energy suspension.

Although they aren't cheap, you can still get the oem bump stops. Google part #10164173.

Thanks for sharing that, I dont really care to modify and make universal fit either. I think Ill try these out.
