Default ? About C5 conversion brackets.

Ok so i know that the late LG brackets you could still use your stock F-body Caliper and use a larger rotor. is this possible with the UMI or BMR Brackets? Im trying to see if for now i can buy some Z51 Rotors and use my stock Calipers until i get some Z06 Calipers. Anyone know?

Yes you should be fine. The mounting points are the same for our calipers and corvette's. All your doing it moving the caliper outward to fit the larger rotor.

I could be mistaken but I am pretty sure the mounting bolts on the c5 caliper are larger

I just did the UMIs today. The calipers are basically the same, however, the pad abutment bracket is different. Using the f-body one pushes the caliper too far out.

The caliper bolts are also the same, but the c5 pad abutment bracket uses larger bolts.

So basically if you wanna do the Z51 brakes all you have to do is add rotors to the kit? Or does it require a larger bracket to place the caliper even farther away to clear the larger rotor?

We recommend to use the C5 calipers with our brackets along with the C5 abutment brackets. Plus the C5 calipers look cool on there

If you have any questions I can help with please ask.

i have your brackets and i have to say, it appears that the kit will work with a larger Z51 rotor IF we use the f-body abutment brackets. The C5 bracket is actually smaller than the f-body one and brings the caliper to the correct location for C5 rotors, but have you guys tried with the Z51 rotor? It may be a swap i'd be interested in if i decided to get some 18s.

I figured everything out. To use Z51 setup you have to have the UMI brackets, caliper brackets from a 2008 z51 vette with new bolts, z51 rotors and c5 calipers, I will be putting it all on tuesday and will take pics, not a bad way to spend $830 haha
