drag shocks on street?
who runs drag shocks on the street? after doing my research i like the idea of the comp engineering 3 way adj shocks/ summits version
but how do these perform on the street? id like to get rears now and fronts later in the summer but if these will make my car suck to drive on the street (where it is 95% of the time) i guess ill have to find a new alternative

I have the Comp. Engineering 3-ways out back set to 50/50. The rear is a little harsh over bumps and unfortunately PA has quite possibly the worst roads in the country. When the road is smooth they ride really well and I have no complaints, I actually like the added firmness. I primarily drive the car around town and on 50+ mile trips to the track and I for that they suit me well but if it were my DD I would have put my stock shocks back in. I can tolerate alot (rod ended suspension, dumped TD's, real lopey cam) but I really would not want those shocks on a car that gets driven alot.

I drive my car alot and these shocks arent bad at all. I put about 400 miles on my car last week and I would complain more the sewing machine sound coming from my valvetrain.
We all will put up with different things

spend the money right the first time and get Strange or AFCO adjustable shocks. they will last a long time and are externally adjustable unlike the Comp, but will cost a bit more. its as simple as reaching behind the tire and turning a **** to make the car switch from race to street valving. we have run the adjustable drag shocks on our shop cars for a long time and there is no real reason not to use them if you are looking for performance. we have the best deals on any suspension components you may need. pm or call us for a quote.

I have race (r) series QA1s all around set at 3/5 on the street and 1/5 at the track. Last time out in the heat went 1.64 1.64, 1.64. QA1s work. Spohn has them. Speak with Steve.

Hello
I noticed you are looking into a set of adjustable shocks for both on the street and strip. And I just wanted to throw this out there for you that UMI Performance offers both single and double adjustable QA1's. If you are looking for a nice easy shock I would suggest the single. They are pre valved 12 settings for compression and rebound. But if you need that extra 10th and are looking for the extra edge. Then that is when the double adjustable shocks come into play they have a unlimited # of settings seeing how you can fine tune the adjustments for your compression and rebound. Below is a link to show you what I am explaining.

If you have any other questions feel free to ask and I will be more than glad to help.
Thanks
Brad
