Default Rear Spring Install

Hey guys, I have Strano springs I need to get installed on the rear (fronts get installed Tuesday or Wednesday). I don't have the rear shocks yet since they are on back order, but I'd like to get the rear springs installed.

My question for you all is...to remove the stock rear springs do you have to unbolt the shock, or can you remove the spring without unbolting the shock?

Any help is appreciated.

You can but it'll be more resistant to coming off while if you unbolt the bottom of the shocks off the axle, the axle will come down more. Heck, just unbolt the top of the shocks off the body and pull the axles down and the springs should just drop with it.

Right now, I didn't really feel like pulling the carpet in the trunk back and unbolting that nut.

So, I could just unbolt the bottom of the shock and that would work?

Yup, unbolt the bottom of the shock and lower the rear. The spring will basically drop out. Just make sure when you lower the rear that nothing binds up or gets caught on anything.

You don't have to pull the carpet all the way to access the shocks at all. Amazingly, the carpet is precut already to get an easy access to each shock.

Mine wasn't cut but it had line that showed were to cut. But to install the springs, I just karate kicked the spring out and installed the new one.
