Default Question installing tubular Kmember

If I put the car up on Jackstands, can I simply support the engine/tranny with a Hydraulic Jack and/or tranny jack while swapping the OEM kmember out for the tubular one?

I'm just wondering if I need to rent an engine hoist or not.

I would support it from the top. It would work better and be out of your way when working under the car.

X2. Engine hoist would be the better way of going about it. Having a jack under the engine and trying to move a k member around it would be a pain. Not saying impossible. But thats how i would go about it.

Engine hoist is best. I have done them on a mustang or two with a floor jack (PITA). Make sure you have an assortment of crowbars ready.

2X6 on the floor jack wasn't too bad. I had a friend to help though.[IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]
