Default Torque arm advice/help please

Ok so i have a 98 Z28. I have pacesetter long tubes and a 3" TSP X pipe, true duals with 3" in/out magnaflow bullets.

i started swapping in,my 12 bolt last night. I noticed that the torque arm was all binded up and jammed in between the exhaust and the drive shaft tunnel in the car. It literally took me 40 minutes to get the torque arm out.

so i did research and found that companies make the tunnel mount torque arm for stock exhaust, and for cars with long tubes and a Y pipe. being that the beginning of an X pipe is the same as a Y pipe, will that one work for me? or is there one special made for people with a 3" X pipe, and I just haven't found it yet?

People running a 3" X pipe, what torque arm are you using?

Since all y-pipes and x-pipes vary in their size and location, no certain tq arm is going to clear 100% of everybody's setups. I would just take some pics of the underside of my car, and compare them to installed pics of vendor torque arms. You might have to try a couple different ones before you find one that works for your exhaust. Or you could have the exhaust tweaked a bit for more clearance.

yea, thats not exactly what i wanted to hear, LOL. I can barely afford to get one, let alone shop a few of them. is it safe to assume that when they refer to Y pipe, that X pipe and Y pipe both fall into that category?

I'm running a 3" exhaust and bought the Spohn crossmember mounted torque arm specifically for longtubes/y-pipe. The exhaust had plenty of clearance where the pipe goes through the crossmember mount so I regret getting this mount I shoulda just gotten the one for stock exhaust cuz this one is too low and bottoms out on the road alot.

No, y-pipe and x-pipe are two different things! The exhuast is literally in the shape of a y and same with the other.

no, i understand that. but being that the first part of my x pipe is the same as the first part of your y pipe, is that all that matters with a tunnel mount or cross member mounted torque arm?
or do they make one made to clear an X pipe and not a Y pipe?
