Manual brake conversion and pedal not returning?

Manual brake conversion and pedal not returning? Installed a manual brake kit from Midwest and the pedal will stay pressed down? Theres no binding in the rod end linkage, we're running aerospace calipers up front and stockers in the rear. Anyone have a clue why you have to reach down and pull the pedal back (or stick your toe under it) in order to release pressure?
